Ok, yes it's obvious that I should probably quit drinking... but I have no desire to. I reckon that means the battle is already lost, eh? How the eff can I NOT drink on the weekends? Hmm.. maybe I could become a volunteer designated driver for a month and see how that goes. *shrug*

Ex girlfriend? Try soon to be ex wife. We're still living together and she chain smokes lol. If I think about her I'll be craving one. I get all antsy and anxious whenever I don't have a smoke... it's very physical. That's what's hard about it.

Thanks all for the input so far. Don't you wish you could just go back to when you were a kid thinkin about how nasty the smoke was and just not pick it up? I admit that I started because my friends were doing it and I just fell right in (everyone is guilty of peer pressure to some extent so don't hate) but now I wish soooo much that I could have just blown it off. Maybe I'll look into the patch. When I was in the army I would dip Copenhagen and it calmed me enough so that I didn't need to smoke... but now I think that dip is nastier than smoking so I don't want to fall back into that. I may end up trying the patch after what you said, "Sumthingdifferent". Hopefully it will help. I WILL win this battle I promise. But the booze hurts... and I won't stop drinkin on the weekends...

is effin hard to do!!! I've been 5 days with no smokes then tonight I started drinkin some vodka and I gave in to the urges.
It's so friggin hard to quit even though I hate it. I hate the taste, I hate the cost, I hate the dangers involved, yet it's insanely hard to stop!!!!! For the last five days I've been using peppermint candies and push ups to fight the urges but alcohol makes smoking irresistable. Are there any others out there with a similar problem? If you have some good advice on how to quit without spending tons of cash on patches or whatever please give it to me. I know there will be responses saying "just quit and its mental, blah blah blah" but seriously, it's hard.

Maybe cause it takes no time at all to check out someone's physique and have an instant physical attraction whereas it could take quite a while to pick up on someone's true personality.

OMFG I love BOTH of those movies!!! I swear to God I actually drive around with Labyrinth in the trunk of my car so I can pull it out at parties - and you'd be surprised at how many people dig it when ya get it started. Ya know what gets me about Legend? The very end when the petals are falling and that song kicks in and everything is turning all happy again lol. Sounds corny (and it is) but the movie is worth watching just for the end!!!

Coffee, coffee, coffee, and coffee in da mornings. Unlike some here I can survive the day if I don't get it but it sure does help having it. Red Bull is an excellent substitute. But later in the evenings I prefer a good hot cup of earl grey tea cause it rocks.

Ya, it'd be nice to have a good thread that could generate genuine discussion (and possibly tensions) between everyone. Not that I'd like to see any kind of hostility but sometimes it's good to become involved in a debate about something tangible versus the same old 'bar talk'.
