thats a concussion for ya, they are all kinda fun

Ya know - have pretty recent memories of them. "Fun" wasn't a word i was using though...

Might have been a negative side effect of *doing* something fun...but they weren't so fun themselves....

At the risk of sounding like a thick-skulled male:

If they don't tell or indicate that they would like to talk more in some manner (ie, say so, ask me to call them, give email address or some such thing) then I would pass it off as being sociable.

Do not get me wrong here - I spend time talking to someone that I enjoy hearing their voice, and they have a few brain cells behind it - it surely is not a waste of time. Very much the contrary.

I just don't automatically assume every female who smiles at me is necessarily *that* interested.

Me ?

"Hit on" = approaching men because you are interested in them for more than just a passing conversation.

I don't consider a friendly talk in a social setting being 'hit on' at all, and would put nothing more to it than - well - a friendly talk.

I was born my papa's son,
when I hit the ground I was on the run.
I had one glad hand and the other behind.
You can have yours, just give me mine.

It's the root of evil and you know the rest
but it's way ahead of what's second best.

Thank you Ken.

I do my best to ensure you don't become overburdened with good wine or homemade whiskey.

Some times I swear it is to be a sh*t-magnet.

Other days - well...will figure out a bit later what I want to be when I grow up.

Friends constantly tell me I was born a few hundred years to late anyway.

Fanta;

Okay - been rereading your posts to Sailor there...few times through.

So - you are bothered not by the fact that this young Canadian is about to be put on trial - but because it will be a civilian trial vs. a more appropriate military tribunal / Courts Martial ?

The Courts Martial being more appropriate - since he was picked up acting as a combatant, not a refugee of battle, or civilian.

(btw - for those who don't know - there is distinct classes of this. Long and short - if you moving with and assisting a fighting unit during a battle - you *are* a combatant. If you are acting independent of any/all units - you *may* be a non-combatant - depending upon your actions. Captured combatants are POWs, all others - again, depends on your actions when captured.)

If so - can see your point and agree - but that point wasn't exactly clear in some of your posts to Sailor.

If she is your supervisor of any sort - or you have to work close - no way.
Ya don't ka-ka on your own dinner table. (Redneck way of saying don't mix your 'work' with your 'play')

If not - ask her out - no harm in it at this point.

But then...don't care.

Sharp is stalking Kasey

I am going to stalk Fresh...

I think the worst was halfway thru the date she ask me my credit score................END DATE

Not sure if this qualifies for 'sad' or 'how bored can one be' however -
Group of us were all project managers/directors for separate sections of a combined project. So we traveled quite a bit at the same time.

We conducted a statistical analysis of the 'bar-fly' types in Annapolis Md.
Those that would come by when you taking a bit of downtime - before heading to BWI for a flight out. You know - "Buy me a drink" ones, that in the first conversation would try to find out your title and salary.

Anyway - we determined the following salary levels:

60k and lower - would leave relatively soon.

60k to 80k - Would garner some interest - but may or may not leave. Seemed to depend on available pool at the time.

80 to 100k - Most would generally stick around, and try for a date.
If accompanied by claims of having a sail boat raised the odds. Construction business claims would put you back to the 60k-80k range.

100K and above - Would certainly try for a date, and would want to find out more about you. Emphasis on boats or exotic travels you may have.

NOTE: This is not meant to cast ALL females in this light. We were surprised and happy to learn that this was actually a pretty small subset of the folks we encountered. MOST were actually pleasant, and in no way classifiable in the 'gold-digger' category. We only included the obvious GD types - in order to find out the salary level cut offs.

See..now I am curious.

What would it take to remove the delegate system? Popular vote on a national referendum?

Will have to do a bit of research now.

sad things is...even if you cut it off...they will find something else to use. it's not about sex to them but power and control

1) Is it just me...or does the word "cut it off" used in that context by a woman make any other male just a bit - defensive/worried? noway

2) Good point though - even if it does make me sit a bit cross-legged and wondering where my steel-plated jock strap is....

Drew - Can agree with all but this part:

You would have picked the opposite side had the intelligence been right and we later found out that Hussein had organized part of 9-11.

No - they would have still been clamoring incessantly about how we should just use sanctions, and 'just talk' to Hussein, as if he is someone to be reasoned with logically.

I have to remind myself before I get too frustrated - that there are some people on here that just do not "get" that there are evil minded egomaniacs out there that lust for power - with whom there is no negotiations unless you have first demonstrated the ability AND willingness to wipe them out.

All those who think it cool not to vote, thank you for shirking one of your main responsibilities as a U.S. citizen.

I don't want to ever hear you b*tch about our political process - you sacrificed your credibility when you didn't vote.

what kind a democracy is this when the people has no choice, but the delegates?

Imperfect. That is why it was deemed "The Great Experiment" by such as Jefferson and "the Political Experiment" by James Madison in the Federal Papers.
