Does standing in a garage make you a car? No. No more than standing in church makes you a Christian!

Welcome to Mingle! I love meeting people who also love the lord so look me up sometime.

Your brother in Christ,

jamie

And how would you feel about dating a divorced woman, melon? Does being married once spoil you forever or does a piece of paper that says, "divorced" make it OK for you to love/be loved?

people are afraid of any remote chance of a reunion and don't want to get hurt.

Makes sense...

I have the feeling that some people may view my profile and dismiss me because I am separated. There are some people, who I am interested in, that won't allow me to send them an email because, technically, I am married. I am in the process of getting a divorce and wanted people's thoughts on the matter. Will listing myself as divorced, once it's finalized, improve my results on mingle?

I believe in one God. Creator of heaven and earth. I believe there is that of God in everyone and everything. I believe that every man, woman and child can develop the ability to communicate directly with God through worship. I believe that good is infinitely more powerful than evil and that the peacemakers shall be considered the children of God. I believe that by submitting, as humble children to God's will that we can inherit the kingdom of God upon our death. I believe that Jesus provides the only example of a perfect life and we should model out lives after his and know his teachings well. I believe that love is the greatest gift given to humans and that we should love even our enemies. I believe that the bible is the word of God. I believe that our reward is not in this life and that we should attach no meaning to material possessions or money. I believe that God provides for me and that there is enough to sustain each and everyone of us. I believe that we should love the Lord our God with all our heart, and all our soul and with all our mind. I believe in an awesome God!

I agree completely! Not only is God's will the only thing that matters, we don't even get to know what it is. Insisting on our will is paramount to self-idolatry and we all know that we can not serve two masters. It is our duty do submit humbly to God's will even when it is contrary to what we think is in our own best interest. Often, it seems, it isn't but there's always a door opened that we never even saw. Thanks for bringing this up!

Anyone else grow up on The Simpsons? I'm new to mingle and need to get engaged in more conversations so I figured I'd throw it out there. And seeing that this is a dating site I should add that I am a Homer looking for my Marge. My playfulness knows no shame. I bounce along to the beat of my own drum. And yes, an ice cold Duff if always appropriate. But I love with all my heart and try my best at everything I do. I get in sticky situations sometimes but my good nature and persistent optimism have always carried me through. Can you forgive even when you're mortified? Do you love with all your heart? Do you have a 3 ft, blue beehive? Do you insist on an orderly house, love kids and serve a mean pork chop? Would you consider making love inside a mini-golf windmill romantic? If so, we should meet. I'm jamie and I'm looking for someone special.

Anyone watching this series? Going to camden yards for tomorrow's game? I am and I'd love to meet for a beer sometime during the game. You don't have to be an Orioles fan but it would help. :) Shot in the dark but you never know! Anyone out there???

Short, but sweet. I like the picture too. If you were looking for a male date, I'd throw my hat in for sure. Eventually you'll want to add more about yourself and what you are looking for in a partner but it's a great start. Anyway, welcome to mingle!

"I always guarded my relationship with God because I figured, it was no one's business but my own. This probably would never have changed had I not gotten married and decided to have children. Then, all of the sudden, I had someone I wanted to felt compelled to include in this secret I was carrying around with me. When my wife, an atheist, found out she felt lied to, packed her things, moved out and asked me for a divorce.

Moral to the story: This time around I am looking for someone who considers my faith my best attribute not my Achilles heel."

I recently posted this quote in another thread and thought it was a good synopsis of what I'm looking for. At least it's a good place to start the conversation.

Does this speak to anyone's condition?

Oh yes, I know the chapter well. And I agree with you that predicting the end is impossible. As a thief in the night... We all must live our lives for the moment when we will face God and account for our behavior. Did we live to serve God and love him with all our hearts? Did we exalt him and glorify His name? Did we feed the hungry, visit the sick and imprisoned?

I just think it makes for an interesting bus ride when you have people bombarded by this media. If nothing else, it has people talking God and I think that's a good thing. I've had some good conversations with people and have been forced to discuss my own beliefs publicly. This is something I have a big problem with. I always guarded my relationship with God because I figured, it was no one's business but my own. This probably would never have changed had I not gotten married and decided to have children. Then, all of the sudden, I had someone I wanted to felt compelled to include in this secret I was carrying around with me. When my wife, an atheist, found out she felt lied to, packed her things, moved out and asked me for a divorce.

Moral to the story: This time around I am looking for someone who considers my faith my best attribute not my Achilles heel. Anyway, I've gone on too long. Let's keep the conversation going though, it's my favorite subject. Secretely, no more. :)

Which threads do you suggest? I've been posting to a few different ones and have met a few people that way but I'd love to know which ones you consider the most active/interesting!

I live in Baltimore but visit my brother and his family, who live in Washington DC, often. I love walking around the mall, going to museums and people watching in the various parks. I'd love to meet some people in the DC area who could show me new places or accompany me to some of my old favorites. Anyone up for some stimulating conversation? Me too! I'd love to hear from you...

Hey! I live up in Baltimore but come to DC all the time to visit my brother and his family. I'd love to meet you when I'm down there! And, of course, I would love to introduce you to some places I know of in Baltimore if you wanted to make the trip...

Of course the time is always now. The biggest problem I have with this prediction is that the website sponsoring this global marketing of "May21" is also collecting donations. What does that tell you? If they truly believed in what the bible says, and believed the end was 35 days away, they would be giving their fortunes away! It's easier for a camel to walk through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

...as a thief in the night...

See that ye be not troubled:
For all these things must come to pass,
but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation,
and kingdom against kingdom:
And there shall be famines, and pestilences,
and earthquakes in divers places.

All these are the beginning of sorrows.

I guess what I'm saying is yes, you're right that we can't predict the end. However, I believe that we will be given signs before the end comes. It just depends on whether you are paying attention or not...

Verily, he comes like a thief in the night. It is written. And if we knew when he came we would lock up our valuables. But just as you lock your door each night in anticipation of the thief, we must prepare our hearts and souls by giving glory to God. We can't spend our time guarding our valuables any more than we can live in fear of the end. But the time is NOW to receive His forgiveness, thank Him for his creation and prepare for everlasting life in his kingdom of heaven.
