Since when was Santa Claus and a Christmas tree considered "religious" decoration? slaphead
Maybe it's a safety issue!

It's my understanding that when one goes to a beauty school, they learn how to deal with all types of hair.

But..I can see if that person has not done it for awhile, they might be uncomfortable doing it again and damaging someone's hair.

I can also see how uncomfortable a person might to be turned down for a service due to one's race. I can't imagine how that would feel.

I was trained to all types of hair when i went thru beauty school...here's the deal..they could have at least had one of the girls consult with her..i would have been up front and told her while i was trained, my experience was lacking...the customer can make a choice...that way if she chose to let someone f up her hair, she'd have no one to blame but herself...there wouldn't be a law suit, but JC Penney would have been paying for her to get her hair re done somewhere else...rofl

It sounds like the handling of the situation was poorly at best! slaphead

Respect and trust must be top priority in a relationship from the start. If you have that, "who's on top" will be insignificant. flowerforyou

I have been on both ends of the spectrum here, I think it is best if you share the give and take in a relationship. No body is always on top of their game and a mutual support and consession works best for me.

Ditto! Well said! flowerforyou

It is relatively insignificant, "news of the day" sort of stuff, only. I can't imagine why anyone would think it takes the focus off the economy and I thought that is what you were implying. flowerforyou My bad!

Presidential pardons are a tradition of out-going presidents. I don't think we should read anything negative into it with Bush. Pundits have expressed the need for Obama to "hit the ground running". I think that is what he is trying to do. Our economic security is not something that can take a time out for the changing of the guard.

it must change, for a modern way of life depends on it. it's been long in coming, but he can do wonders for foreign affairs, and accomplish more than anyone has ever done to date, for the rest of this world, is predominately other races than white. with the economy going into full collapse by summer, when the banks will close down and there's no longer any more money to steal from the american public, it will be worse than the deppresion, for there are more people to feed, and less work here than there has ever been, it will be chaos. add a few natural disasters that we are overdue, and you can do the hypothesis.....no president can change this now...it's gone too far.

maybe just a polar shift, i hope......that looks most logical.....whether it is or not, we will see it.

Yes, we shall. Too many people not gettin' it.

well, when this happens, it will change the force of techtonic plates, and change the shapes of continents, and waterlines, as well as our fresh water supplies. volcano dust will be a problem as well, from the upset of the earth's crust being changed....this is just fact, and logic, not a doomsday prediction.... leave that for the religious ones. i'll be just an observer.

I have no idea, I'm not that smart. It sounds cliche', but I firmly believe that life as we know it will cease to exist. The change will be dramatic and profound.
My hope is that my children are near me and we can be together.

no it is 720 p.. it really takes a good eye to tell alot of difference between 720 and 1080p...

I work in digital television (set top boxes, encryption, UI) and I can tell you its more than the "eye" for the 720p vs 1080i/p debate. You'll find one format works better for sporting events while another for documentary. Many of the local broadcasters decided on one format with out considering the "per-event" formatting, but they are wizen up.

Any yes, I can tell a difference between the two, I'm just waiting for the price to fall out!

Ok, I don't know much about this, but I stood in front of a Sony 720 and a Sony 1080. There was a BIG difference. I want the 1080 so bad now. Are ya'll saying the prices will go down soon? flowerforyou

Hmm, I'm on face book all the time, but I have not seen it, I have not looked for it either.

I don't think I had ever even looked at facebook! I got two emails. One said I had a friends request, the other said I had a message. Bot were from the same person. When I clicked on the link, it took me to the facebook sign in page. It asked for email address and password, I don't have a password so I reset it. It let me do it. I signed in and that's when I saw the Mingle2 info.
I'm always afraid of a scam or virus or something, Just thought I would ask.
Thanks, guys! Maybe someone else will have more info.

As for drug testing, the people in my building are responsible for the care and safety of the residents. If you are high you aren't prepared for an emergency or to steady a shaky oldster.I have no problem with it.

Yeah if you are high you probably arent capable, but if you smoked a doobie the previous night are you gonna be high?

They don't do random testing but if you smoked the night before, don't get in an accident because before you fill out an incident report you are tested. If positive, goodbye. In NH you don't need a reason to quit and they don't need one to fire.
It's called work at will.

Does having a Mingle2 profile now put a profile on facebook, too? I got a friends request from someone on facebook and I didn't have a facebook profile. When I got into the account, it had information about Mingle2 on it.

Thanks,

Speaking of urine... $154M and it's not working. NASA need to have their mission changed to develop alt-energy...

"HOUSTON – Astronauts tinkered Sunday with a troublesome piece of equipment designed to help convert urine and sweat into drinkable water, which is vital to allowing the international space station crew to double to six.

Station commander Michael Fincke and space shuttle Endeavour astronaut Donald Pettit changed how a centrifuge is mounted in a urine processor, which is part of the newly delivered $154 million water recovery system. The centrifuge is a spinning device that helps separate the water from urine.

It was on rubber grommets to reduce vibrations, and Mission Control asked Fincke to remove them and just bolt the piece down."

Funny, funny, funny, guys!

Urine tests are use to determine that the person who is being paid to do the job is "capable" of doing the job. It's useless in determining need for assistance...free will and all! Plus, I thought the Conservative view was against regulation? Is regulation ok for the poor, but not ok for the wealthy?

For the record, I don't believe anyone should be drug tested. The only thing it does is absolve those is charge of the responsibility of identifying problems while they are happening. flowerforyou

I thought the Conservative view was against regulation?...in this case...it's regulation for the non-producers...

...so that makes regulation ok? Is it not still a violation of ones right to privacy? Who determines who's non-productive? My friend who just got laid off her job? She's worked all her life, but she's not working now. Is that non-productive? You require one, you have to require all. That's the rules! flowerforyou

WHY DO WE FEEL THE NEED TO HELP EACH OTHER?

Because contrary to what the Bible claims, we're actually nice. flowerforyou

WHY DON'T WE [LIKE THE ANIMALS] JUST LET WHATEVER HAPPENS TO OTHERS JUST HAPPEN AND ACCEPT IT AS A NORMAL THING??

I've personally seen animals exhibit campassion and caring.

They probably don't go into it in depth simply because of their mental limitations to dwell on things in great detail.

But I have definitely seen animals exhibit concern over the anguish of another animals, and over the anguish of humans.

I've seen large dogs protect smaller dogs. I've seen pet dogs protecting pet cats, and children from external threats. I've seem them appear to show concern when others are hurt.

You'll never convince me that they have no clue what they are doing.

I've also watched wildlife shows where mother animals appear to be very concerned about the wellbeing of their babies.

In fact, Just the other day I was driving down the road and a large flock of turkeys started to cross the road in front of me. I stopped and watch. The adult turkeys appeared to be to be very concerned about getting all their little babies across the road. They stood around like school gaurds and waited for the younger birds to cross.

Clearly there's some sense of 'society' going on there. They aren't just out for every bird for itself.

That's just a gross misconception of what's going on.

They may not have the cerebral depth to logically take it to the extremes that humans do. But I think they clearly have some level of compassion.

We aren't as different from animals as we'd like to believe.

i agree majyk man, try reading the rest of my post before replying, i've already stated such!!! tongue2

but on the other hand, there are also many that eat thier young or kill there young for whatever reasons also. many fish exibit this as do mammals, they are scavengers and cannabilistic in nature.

but what i'm asking is why are we caring why do we feel the need to help? what moses us to do so? its not religion as you and others say, it's beyond that from what i can sense.and its in all of us to varying degrees - yet in some its seems almost absent? why is that?

It's the circle of life... sorry, Lion King is coming to town! But true no less.
I think the need to help is in all of, it's just some develop it better than others.
