a faded denim shirt
with sleeves cut out
a worthless rag in reality
a quaint memory to me
a favorite he refused to give up
tacky appearance notwithstanding
he wore it on his off days
while he puttered in his shop
what I would give to see him
in his ratty jeans with this shirt on
but in this world I will not see this again
however I fold this tattered shirt
many would think this crazy
but will keep it for nights
when I miss him
to have a bit of him

its delicate scent
lush floral leaves
hide the thorns
