Every night as I lay my head
no dreams do I dream
But only do I lay there thinking of
sorrowful things.

Hoping for better days
and no more gray dark sky's
I pray for peace and love to fill my heart
as each new day comes by.

The tears that fill my bed at night
are drowning me with sorrow
When all I want to do is breath
through this never ending wallow.

Someday the clouds will break
and my sunshine will forever return
but why must I wait for happiness
when it is something that I have earned.
