It's certainly not a fake marriage, so I'm not seeing how it's not real.

I wouldn't say certainly is this case. Why is it certainly not a fake marriage? Many religions consider any legal marriage basically not married. This is for straight couples as well. I married my wife in a courthouse and according to my families religion we are not married.

This is why I believe ms harmony specifies "legal marriage" but she can correct me if I am wrong.

In Colorado, you have only to file an income tax return as a married couple, and you are legally considered married.

You have only to introduce yourselves as man and wife, live together and you are considered legally common law married.

You have only to receive mail at your residence as Mr. and Mrs. or use the same last name, appearing to be married and you can be considered common law married.

The rules for common law marriage in Colorado are actually stronger and more powerful in court than State sanctioned marriage laws. You do not have to live together for any length of time. It can be one night.

Yes exactly, not what you said before. You don't need a contract to not be married. Also it wouldnt apply to gays as they have to be man and wife and Mr. and Mrs. The law says that specifically.

In Colorado, when a man an a woman live together, establish a residence together in the same house, if they do not have a contract stating that they are roomates sharing rent, and not to be considered married, they can be classified as a common law married couple.

Consummation is assumed. That will probably have to change, because what happens to "common law marriage" when it come to same sex couples?

Will every person sharing a house or apartment need to have separate lease agreements stating the nature of their relationship?

It is set in stone if you ever introduce the other as "wife" or "husband" or probably "better half" to a group or if you receive mail as Mr. and Mrs.

This is interesting thoughts, where do you get all these ideas? laugh
Most couples that live together have Sex, and most married couples have sex. This is one of the benefits of marriage and a livin partner.

They are not 'thoughts' they are the laws concerning common law marriage in Colorado. You do not have to live with a person for six months, or even have children with them, and you can be considered common law married even overnight if the circumstances are right...legally.

If one partner tries to throw the other one out, and steal his or her stuff in the process, common law can be applied and one person can sue the other person as if they were legally married by the state.

There are common marriage laws, but not what she stated.

So what is with Texas? They have a fast lane for the death penalty, and they want to ban abortion? I think they just don't want to run out of Texans.

No they wanted to ban post 20 week abortions. At least be honest about the topic. Sorry but you should make the decision before you are half way there.

Also if someone is on death row why should we pay to keep them in prison?

The bill would have placed such strict rules on clinics that there would not be very many places to go for an abortion.

But my point is why try to make it difficult for a woman to get an abortion?

For a state that brags about its death penalty, why get all nit picky about abortions?

Totally different. Unless the baby commits murder. People on death row killed people.

Well that's obvious.

I'm talking about the sanctity of life not about the excuses people use to kill someone or have an abortion.

Its not about the sanctity of life but of innocent life. Criminals are not innocent.

Take away the racial undertone and you have nothing left. In fact I wouldnt even call it an undertone. It wasn't subtle in the least. It was "white people wont understand this girl". They basically said that the whole time. It wasn't an undertone.

Its also a victory for people who support limitting the federal governments power. I think its a state issue and not a federal one.

Oh. I thought the supreme court overturned a state decision. Wasnt that prop 8? Im not so good at following political stuff.

Pretty sure I read that the federal government can't deny them equal treatment under the law if the state allows them to marry. Such as taxes etc. Actually DOMA is a federal law

This is incorrect. In colorado they must agree to be husband and wife and state in public to be man and wife. They don't need a contract saying they are not.

It's easy to judge, isn't it. However, there are people who go much further along in a pregnancy before they show any signs of it. There's a TV Show on TLC where they showcase women who deliver babies, not having known they were pregnant the day before.

Personally, I feel that the fetus's life is completely up to the mother, and none of the government's business.

Back to the OP, Texas is a nutty state, but that's what you get when Conservatives are left without adult supervision.

Yes I know that show. So do you suggest those women should have to option of aborting during labor? Very very few people really don't know at 20 weeks.

in some states anyway.. here is the question:

So now that same sex marriage is going to be legal, here is my question.

Do these people have to be gay?

Is being gay a requirement? Just wondering.

It would be the same kind of fraud 2 opposite sex couples do when they marry.

I agree, he is an American Hero. He will probably be assassinated or something that we wont know about. Probably knew it was coming before he decided to leak the info. Takes balls to do that. He thought the truth was more important than his life.

I would say Historic!

Look at all he has done: saved the car industry; saved the banking industry; pulled you out of a terrible recession; integrated the military; ending the Bush wars; got OBL; saved American face within foreign policy; passed health-care reform (first attempted under Teddy Roosevelt), etc and all with an insane right-wing opposition who votes against its own proposals. History will view him highly!

Car and bank were laws under Bush. Look it up. Since when are the wars over? I am buying a car from a guy being deployed next month. Yea and thank you for raising my healthcare costs for the same coverage.

real males are born with testicles and a penis , no ovaries or uterus,,,lol

but a real MAN,,,good question

I guess it depends upon what a REal man is to you

some think real men are tough guys
some think real men are responsible
some think real men are self sufficient,,,,

I think we mostly attract real men when we allow ourself to be 'out there' (not sexually, but socially) and behave as 'real' women,,

All good points,

Some think a real man is a bar brawler type,
Some think the "Mr Fix Its" who can repair anything under the sun themselves are real men,
Some think the educated professionals with a good job and job title are real men,
Some think people are are good husbands and fathers are real men.

All these can be correct and depending on which type YOU consider a real man will determine where you should go look for him.

There is a difference between a person voluntarily joining a "collective" and a person be "assimilated" into a collective by force.

They can, in fact you can google satellite internet. The thing is that is a separate service. Your company would have to have that available in your area and then you would have to purchase that service. The problem is that it can be more expensive so many companies put data caps like they do on cellular data plans. There is only so much data that can be stored in a certain bandwidth. Unlike cables which can transmit a lot more data without having to worry about frequency planning. (I used to be a radio frequency engineer with a small cell phone company)
