"filed it with my other important papers, between the pages of my road atlas."
that might, just be a great line to use in a future write. |

What might you do with a basic theme like "roads less traveled?" |

Your question was, "Has anyone ever written how they felt and then burned the piece of paper?" Oh yes, that was the best advise my grandmother ever gave to family members, she told us that when she got mad or upset with grandpa, she would take pen and paper in hand and write down how she felt and then burn it. Grandpa was not an easy person to live with but they were married for 65 years, until grandpa died.
This is a powerful writing that sounds like poetry. Better you write poetry then toss and turn the night away. Eight years ago, perhaps it is time to let her go. |

I woke up pissed, thinking, this is not what I planned for these golden years, alone, and dating again after so many years. In all frankness, I hate dating. I married young and started raising a family so this dating game is unfamiliar to me. The world is changing and I don't recognize it anymore. The values, manners and morals I was taught don't apply anymore.

I don't read or write poetry because it's cute; I read and write because I'm a member of the human race, and I'm filled with passion. Poetry is about feelings, beauty, romance, and love which the human race needs to stay alive. I read poetry because it makes me feel alive, I write poetry because I am alive. |

"Wow, it's big..."
The first time I saw it, My head was filled with awe. I never knew it could foster Such a feeling so raw. My heart was pounding with excitement, I couldn't help but stare. When I had the chance to ride it, I was caught unaware, How it made me scream throughout, Breathless when it ended. It was a force to be reckoned, Dizzy as I dismounted. I couldn't wait, so eager, To hop on another. That's my very first ride, On a big roller coaster. by Pansytilly Wow, that's a great write, it's awesome! |

What are the ladies over fifty looking for in a relationship?
The question guys of all ages are asking, what do women want? I personally think women, no matter what their age, wants a man to be a provider, a protector, a teacher and a leader, someone they can look up to and respect. |

Who would have known, I didn't know myself, a Packers' game, and discussing the game over a cup of coffee would remind me of days no more and broken promises. My husband promised me these golden years were going to be our best years, now I find myself alone with broken dreams, doing the things we planned alone. It still hurts, I feel sad, I need to think about something else!
Perhaps, I should take a drive down a less traveled road along a slow moving creek to find peace a place where I can walk along the creek bank to refresh my soul, my dog and me! |

Oh Wordsmith, Oh Wordsmith, Let the past R.I.P., aware that the future is but a dream, with the simply awareness that the winds blow, intent on carrying us forward. "to father sole words that you now rest upon." Wow! I, for one, will be waiting to read and meditate on those crafted words. I love the graphics you've chosen, simple but eloquent. |

the lonely path

it is a path! that I feel I am condemned ,to walk my entire life. ... even when there are others on the path.. .. they give way to my loneliness. .. I have embraced this lonely path that I must travel.... ... I have made a truce with my loneliness.. .. it will not accompany me all the time.... .. but it will never stray too far away. .. always there to remind me.. . that I am, alone with my loneliness.. I enjoyed this one |

I am no poet but I know why I play with words. Nice thread. Brug, I'm no poet but I love reading poetry, I admire and applaud the people who can. I would like to see folks sharing their thoughts and reason for writing and if they write where their inspiration comes from. I look forward to seeing more of your writings/musings. And do share a poem from a poet that you find inspirational. |
