Welfare Christmas December 16, 2008 Christmas Eve, Mom says moneys tight No stuffing, turkey or Christmas lights No presents wrapped in ribbons of silk No cookies for Santa No cold glass of milk The heat is off The air is cold My hat, coat, and gloves fed a Christmas moth The bank foreclosed We’re on the street I really wish for something to eat Oh, Santa Claus hear my wish Please, bring just one Christmas dish The food banks bare And charity, too Mom says, she wonders what we will do. Will anyone help us or hear our call? While the other little girls….. Get their Christmas Doll. Please help us and please donate And maybe, everyone will have a Christmas plate. I don't know about other states, but NC's food closests are bare, the "soup lines" longer then ever. The radio & tv stations have been promoting special events to help fill the needs of so many people this season. |

I did that with grapefruit juice a while back. I couldn't even wait to get home to drink it. I opened the thing in the car and began to guzzle it down. Now, I want some more. I've been on this chinese food kick for about 3 wks now. If there was more than one chinese restaurant in town here or if I'd order something besides the same thing each time....I'll do this every once in awhile with a certain food, then all of a sudden I won't want it again for months! I've been in that restaurant so much this month that he just looks at me and says "The usual?". |

Seriously guys, do y'all ever crave a certain food and eat it for like days? Someone told me it was your body telling you it was needing something that the food you were craving had.

Good morning, Cathy. I don't know how Bonny tastes, but I do know she eats some very strange things. Good Morning Ruth. I think we need to tie Sam, put some duct tape over his mouth. Did you see the lists of things HE eats? RATS????? All of a sudden Bonny's menu doesn't seem so bad. |

Sunday Morning Coming Down--Kris Kristofferson
Well, I woke up Sunday morning With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt. And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad, So I had one more for dessert. Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes And found my cleanest dirty shirt. Then I washed my face and combed my hair And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day. I smoked my mind the night before With cigarettes and songs that I'd been picking. But I lit my first and watched a kid Playing with a can that he was kicking. Then I walked across the street And caught the smell of someone frying chicken. And Lord it took me back to something that I'd lost Somewhere, somehow along the way. On a Sunday morning sidewalk, Wishing Lord that I was stoned. Cause there's something in a Sunday That makes a body feel alone. And there's nothing short 'a dying That's half as lonesome as the sound Of the sleeping city sidewalk And Sunday morning coming down. In the park I saw a daddy With a laughing little girl that he was swinging. And I stopped beside a Sunday school And listened to the songs that they were singing. Then I headed down the street And somewhere for away a lonely bell was ringing, And it echoed through the canyon Like the disappearing dreams of yesterday. On a Sunday morning sidewalk, Wishing Lord that I was stoned. Cause there's something in a Sunday That makes a body feel alone. And there's nothing short 'a dying That's half as lonesome as the sound Of the sleeping city sidewalk And Sunday morning coming down. |

Love at 50 and over is scary
|
|
Just came across this topic also, I believe that with age comes wisdom..at least for most. When we were younger, we'd throw caution to the wind, more often then not, would NEVER pay attention to that still small voice that was always telling us the best way, and we felt we had FOREVER in front of us, if we made mistakes, so what, starting all over again wasn't that big of a deal.
At 50, we KNOW that starting over isn't easy, we KNOW that there is no FOREVER, and no GUARANTEES in life. So hopefully, we stop and consider our options, choosing more wisely. Maybe it takes longer after we're 50 to find someone that we're actually WILLING to compromise. I honestly believe that if you dream it, hope for it, and still pursue it, whatever you dream for can be attained, just not always own OUR time table. Wishing you all the best. 50 is only 1/2 way. |
