You'll have to put up a real pic if you want to be considered..

There's still lots of details to decide on what moderators can and can
not do. But the net effect is that we have a better community. It's
not to police people and ruin their experience.

A baby pic is no big deal. Any offensive pics would be removed anyway.
It's really to weed out people that have the sole intent of hurting
others and causing "disharmony"

There aren't any specific rules (yet). The rules will probably be
around what we do (ie: a process before you get perm banned).

What we want is people to feel comfortable and enjoy posting in the
forums. If an individual's behavior is disturbing that state, they will
be warned and possibly banned.

Just don't be a jerk to other people.. it's pretty basic. Doesn't mean
you can't make mistakes here and there, we are all human and get
emotional sometimes. But if you are consistently just mean, you don't
belong here.

Thanks for your input escaped... I agree with you. It's not about power
hungry users enforcing their own agendas... it's about good hearted
volunteers who are helping to keep the community pleasant for everyone.

This post is to open the discussion about moderators and also get
nominees.

Hi all,

The JustSayHi community has grown tremendously over the last four
months. We are very happy with the site and how the community has
grown. To help manage the community and make sure it is a fun and safe
place for everyone, we are thinking of appointing moderators.

Moderators would be given special abilities designed to keep things
pleasant for everyone. Some of the abilities a moderator would have
are:

- being able to move threads into a special moderator only area
- suspending a user's posting ability for a few days
- more visible/powerful REPORT ABUSE power

Moderators can be nominated by the community. Every so often, new
moderators will be chosen (perhaps every few months). We (Mike & I)
will make the choices of who becomes a moderator, but we will weigh the
community's views heavily in our decision making.

Moderators are not paid and it is totally voluntary.

We'd like to hear your opinions on moderators and if you would like to
nominate someone, you can do that here by messaging me directly.

True. they can come back. If they are cool, they can stay. If not,
they get booted again. It gets old creating accounts just so you get
blocked again.

Whats most important is that the community has a way to police itself so
things dont get out of control.

Bloodycesar was banned for his behavior in the forums. Thanks to all
who reported him using REPORT ABUSE feature.

Just put their username after justsayhi.com and you should find them...

Try inviting real world people in to be your friend.

Most likely if they are your friend in real life, they won't deny you

site. We do not look at every photo or read every profile. So
attacking us for missing something is kinda silly. Just use report
abuse and be patient, we will get to it.

do the JSH dance to signal to each other :)

Umm ya the ticket is like $100 and goes up every Friday.

It's not a separate event, I'm just inviting people from JSH to it.

Like I said, we may have special JSH events down the road once we are
bigger..
