the best thing to do is check the urban legend sites to see if what
you're reading is for real. ie: snopes.com if it's not there, then go ahead and post it :) |

there's nothing wrong with drinking.
it's a common way for people to connet. obviously if you are the type that can't handle your alcohol and get abrasive or start acting like a fool you're not going to be doing good business deals. but if you can have a good time with people in a social atmosphere, that's where a lot of business is done. business is all about relationships and social drinking is a just a way to connect... golf and poker are other ways people connect (sometimes with drinks there too) |

Well every forum is really a platform for debates... we don't need to
create a specific forum just for debates. There are plenty of excellent heated debates that occur in the "normal" forums. However, we may create a forum to throw all the trash-talking in. |

Hehehe..
Please don't think we want everyone here to be singing koom-by-ya together or something. Debates and different points of view are absolutely wanted. What we don't want is just people cursing at each other all day. It's just not that interesting and turns off new members. We're all human, it's ok if we make mistakes now and then. We just didn't want it to become a pattern... Thanks for the support, we're really excited about the future of this site... |

(our notes - written in July 2006)
JustSayHi is going to be the largest singles community in the world. We think there are two simple things that we must do in order to achieve his goal. 1) Users must be able to meet others on the site 2) Users should never have to pay to use the site It takes a LOT of hard work, to make it that simple. Here are some of the tools people will use to connect with one another: A) Profiles - this allows a user to express themselves. In addition to describing themselves and their interest, they will be to upload photos, audio and video content that expresses who they are. B) Message Boards = this lets users have conversations with each other without having to be online at the same time. it also provides great user generated content for others to read C) Secret Match - this feature allows a user (user A) to express interest in another user (user B) anonymously. if user B also expresses interest in user A, a secret match is made and both users are notified. using collaborative filtering, this feature will make search results be more accurate. D) Events - this feature is centered around something to do. users can post an event that is coming up and other people can join. the event might be for 1 person (ie: I have a spare ticket to the Opera on such and such date, looking for a woman to join me) or for a group (ie: Let's all go party and XYZ bar on Saturday!). E) Compatability Tests - users will be able to make and take quizes and tests for compatability matching. |

if every other word is a cuss word, there's not much communicating going
on.. everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions. we don't except everyone to agree. but we do think that there can be a common level of respect. |

its very simple.. you can talk about sex topics in the SEX & DATING
forum. People are in that forum for THAT reason. People aren't in the General Discussion forum in order to hear a bunch of drama. If it is desired, I can create a FLAME WAR forum where people can attack each other all day. This is where we would also move arguing topics. Doesnt that make sense? We're not trying to censor people, just maintain a level of decency and respect that encourages communication.. I've been involved with online community for over 20 years. My last company, ezboard.com, is the largest message board community in the world. People fighting in the forums constantly is one of the most common reasons communities die. Other people don't participate because it is simply not fun anymore... |

we really hope we don't have to start policing the forums because people
can't learn the most basic rule of how to have harmony on the forums. it's so simple. if people say crap to you, or call you name, or do other things - just IGNORE it. it usually goes away. if you feed into it, it gets worse. are you going to go berserk everytime someone calls you a name? it's just silly to let a complete and utter stranger get under your skin especially when it is their intention to do so. so please, just IGNORE the post. or use the REPORT ABUSE feature and over time their account gets flagged and eventually banned if it reported enough.. |

the foul language that has been happening lately is just not tolerated.
if you don't like them, ignore them. if you want to post, send them a message.. keep it off the forums - this isn't your personal place to rant |

and if you didn't make the best decisions then, do so now. starting
with yourself... doing what is healthy you for. for each of us, it's something different, but we usually know what it is. i think the advice of joining a support group makes a lot of sense. community helps. |
