Your friend is very insecure. Insecure chicks love assholes. If she grows up, then things would change.

That is an irritating rhyme scheme.

I'm not omnicient, but I am omniscient, oldster. Therefore, by your standards, my premise is completely valid. I'll add this - in being alive forever, I've seen EVERYTHING that's gone on in the world, and I didn't see a single event in the bible take place. Therefore, by your standards of "believing whatever you hear without proof" becasuse it's an eye-witness account, you would have to accept what I say as fact.
Or, alternatively, you could admit that "eye-witness" accounts are a bunch of bull. |

"You need to read what Simon Greenleaf wrote about the accuracy of the Bible. If you read about the apostles, you will see that they all denied Jesus and let him die among theives. They were afraid for their lives and with good cause. Fourty days later, the 11 apostles started to minister to the people about Jesus. 10 of them died horrible deaths and one survived being boiled alive in oil, otherwise they would have all been killed. All of them were persecuted, beaten, tortured and eventually murdered for their beliefs, except for John who only escaped the murder part. So basically, if someone previously denied a belief and then later was willing to suffer and die for that belief, something drastic must have happened to change their belief. Simon Greenleaf, the atheist attorney could only come to one conclusion, they must have believed what they were saying and the only reason they would believe is if Jesus really did come back from the dead. He became a Christian, because to him the logic and what he understood of human behavior made the conclusion inescapable. "
Well, yeah. What better way to convince someone to believe in something that with that kind of sick, twisted ****? Oh and LonelyWalker - Nice burger. |

"Wow - this thread is all over the place. I will respond to the first post though, and move on from there.
1) Man cannot walk on water? I have. Walked across Lake Winnapasaukee when it was frozen solid in my youth. Ice is water in a frozen state. And I believe Jesus walked on water because there was eye witness account. 2) Turn water into wine? And why not? Here too - eye witness account. 3) Jesus was not the only one to come back from the dead. Lazurous did. Here too - eye witness account. So where's the myth? " Easily refuted - You may not know this, but I've been alive forever. I didn't see jesus walk on water or turn water into wine. There. That's my eye-witness account that refutes this. No more should you believe some guy in sandals turned water into wine nor that he walked on water. Hey, my eye-witness account said so. See how useful an eye-witness account is? |

"Was the universe created at all by any means or force? Either answer is an answer of faith, you have no proof either way."
Yeah, but that assumes two things. One is that there are no other "options" and the other is that not knowing can be about answer. |

"How was the universe created? "
I don't know, I wasn't around to see it happen. Were you? |

Information? More like "You're wrong, I'm right because I said so"

So you basically made **** up and believed everything men in funny hats told you because you were tired of not knowing things? Gotcha.

"Faith is believing without proof."
Hmm, so faith is being a moron. I understand. |

That is, just because you want something to be true doesn't mean it is no matter how many times you say it. Hey, you can even be thoroughly 100% convinced (IE crazy) that something is true when it isn't.

" I have absolutely no doubt that there is a God."
That means nothing. It's about as useful as a blind man saying he's absolutely no such thing as color. |

Yes, because Gilgamesh has been proven a 100% true story.

Mmmhmm...I'm not buying it. Barring the existence of mythical creatures, I'm still not seeing how a human body could actually walk on water. Did the guy have some camera tricks? Maybe Jesus was David Blaine?
