Wow, Guys I know what humanism is. I also know what transhumanism is. It was a word play based on our species (humans) ability to use imagination in ways no other animal does. OP was looking for an 'ism' so I combined human and ism and the way I did so, fit the OT. It was intended as light humor. lol...I was agreeing. |

The term (humanism) is alternatively applied to a variety of Western beliefs, methods, and philosophies that place central emphasis on the human realm.

I do not even know what that means and do not really care. Too many 'labels' have been created in my lifetime. All I need to know is, do they sleep with same sex partners, are they single, and what is their interest in ME? The first is a deal breaker, the second is a requirement, and the last one is informative.

It had to 'start' somewhere, of course. I see no gain to be had for anyone to have done so intentionally.

ISMs will never go away. They are human nature. IF we recognize differences, which we should in my opinion, some will take those differences further to imply superior/inferior value. Different is just different. But to the bigot, different implies 'better' or 'worse'.
In short, as long as there is the logical, there will be the illogical. As long as there is love, there will be hate. The good comes along with the bad. It's the balance of life. And we should always strive to have more of the former than the latter, but never expect to completely eradicate either. |

“I shall ask God mercifully to protect us. Then I shall fumigate, help purify the air, administer medicine and take it. I shall avoid places and persons where my presence is not needed in order not to become contaminated and thus perchance inflict and pollute others and so cause their death as a result of my negligence. If God should wish to take me, he will surely find me and I have done what he has expected of me and so I am not responsible for either my own death or the death of others. If my neighbor needs me however I shall not avoid place or person but will go freely as stated above. See this is such a God-fearing faith because it is neither brash nor foolhardy and does not tempt God.” Martin Luther. You could tell your sister this quote from one of the most admired Reformers of the Church? I love God, for certain. I can also see that the Bible, being several books over a long period of time, from several authors, can sometimes be far from simple. Although the Bible does tell us not to 'tempt' God, it also swears off not having faith. Who would think it wise to step off a boat and walk on the water, yet Jesus himself implied that faith would have allowed it. I can understand people of faith doing things that seem irresponsible and even impossible in the physical, that is kind of the strongest faith one can have actually. I am not there. I play it safe. I admire people whose faith is strong enough to believe and trust God that deeply though. |

In the US, at least, governments do not pay the athletes, nor do the pay the 'lowly workers' The leagues for which athletes are making the profits, and the fans which they are bringing in, dictate the value of what the athletes earn. The profits from the fans that the celebrities bring out to view and pay for the entertainment also dictate the value of what they earn. If everyone involved is making more than the cost of living, I have no issue. It is when, within one industry and it's profits, there is such disparity that some involved in those profits are barely making the cost of living and others are making exponentially more, that I question it. There should not be the disparity where those at the top make seven figures or more and others barely make minimum wage. There should be more 'equity' amongst income within any given industry/company. I Want to add, that many people have employment because of the profits that these celebrities and athletes bring in to allow it, at least in the USA. A TV series is produced, and people watch for certain celebrities, because the fan base for those celebrities is so high, their association makes larger profits, allowing for more employment of all the people it takes to make that show. IT is a circular effect. No one should have to struggle if they work, but there is also, to me, a reason that the celebs and athletes make what they do, not only because of profits they attract, but jobs that those profits then are able to create. |

There's the rub, now isn't it? I've been noticing that lots of people from the progressive left are trying to use this opportunity to completely destroy all other religious belief. They claim they have no religion. But in reality it's socialism or what's called "Humanism" or some other thing. My perspective is slightly different then others. What holds us together is a bond of trust. Of cause this must be destroyed at all costs. It's perfectly fine for the leftists to release murdering rapists into the general population to have them cause haveck. Having people congregate in a responsible way (using protection such as a neckerchief over you nose and mouth) can't be aloud because it will reinforce trust. You can't give anyone the benefit of a doubt because everyone is stupid and untrustworthy. Being religious is any way shape or form instantly makes you blinded by a cult like mentality and should be scorned. pshaw, faith and belief are no more 'cult like' or worthy of scorn than registering as one political party or another, it is only sharing values with a large group of people. I think they said groups of ten or less, large families certainly are doing it, so a small group in a sanitized and clean space is not a terrible idea. I do however spend alot of time with my mother, who is in the highest risk category as far as age goes, so to avoid bringing anything to her, I am careful. I use online services, if I use them at all. The church is the people, not the building. I still maintain my relationship with God through prayer and just talking to Him throughout the day. |

Also, from a young age, my mindset or perception has been that with 'responsibility' also come 'authority' and 'privilege' and purpose. I see the responsibility as what I will pay to have certain privilege and authority and purpose, like any other transaction in which we give to get.

Its called HumanISM Humans are the only lifeform on this planet that uses a monetary system. A monetary system is a system of value based on reasoning. What started as a barter system evolved into a symbol system. That is why wealth/debt can be measured without a substance foundation. We invented and support virtual wealth. In real time we trade paper or coins to represent a value of wealth. That value of wealth is assigned to an electronic representation which only exists in cyberspace. There is no other animal on this planet that does this. Thus, it is HumanISM I swear that was going to be my EXACT answer, humanism...lol. |

And the Pilgrims purposely came over to America to get all the Indians sick and wipe them out so they could take over the land, ya right. There have been many pandemics thru time, this one really isn't even that bad compared to most. Would you rather go to Africa and get Ebola or stay here and get Corona? Why do you think they plug kids full of vaccinations? We've been past due for something like this and 10 years ago it wouldn't have hit nearly as hard if even at all here because its only recently that people have been allowed to come and go freely from China. When was the last time you heard about bird flu? Or swine flu? This will pass in time and people will once again forget about it. The majority of people that die probably wouldn't last more than a couple more years anyways, just natures way of cleaning house, if it were a conspiracy they would have done a much better job implanting it. Trumps new slogan for his 2020 campaign is Make America great again again. Africa, which is an ENTIRE CONTINENT of countries, had 12,000 deaths in the first two years of Ebola, or 500 average a month. The USA, one country, has seen more than 3000 in two months from coronavirus. It is bad. I do not think people will forget about this. But it will pass. The difference from previous illness is how GLOBALLY and QUICKLY it is spreading, without resources or knowledge to combat it. The necessity to keep people quarantined on such a large scale, will also have much more of an global ECONOMIC impact than other illnesses. |

Here in Nevada, there are doctors giving free medical care. In other states, there are building owners not charging rent. I do not believe regulations are hampering people from charging less or making more. Regulations keep the boundaries reasonable.

One full of 'gender roles'. I like a guy who can kind of take the lead, but also know how to share the spotlight, so to speak. Good conversation and lots of 'chivalry' are also my favorites. Someone who doesn't sweat the small stuff but isn't making everything into a joke either. As far as the logistics, dinner and a movie are still pretty much an enjoyable combination.

hi I've not read all the replies, the fonts are just too tiny, i think the issue lies with you, and your feelings and opinions.. though many people feel the same, many millions also do not, they just use those sayings, as regular as Hi, good day etc it's just being polite, in their beliefs & upbringings all around the UK for example, they have hundreds of different greetings and sayings... they can literally use the word love, without even knowing you in a store, how are you love? you alright love,? etc the word love... gets thrown around so much, that many people (men cough) who say it don't even feel it... but it's just the way they talk up north etc. or other places around the world sugar, i think is mainly American, howdy sugar, howdy honey... In parts of Australia its very common to use the C swear word to greet people GDay C..... instead of G Day mate, and to them it's normal I'd rather be called dear, or love, than c... it's just how you like it, your preference is those things are from close ones, that is nice too imo, others are just being themslves too. though you might not like it, not much we can do as everyone is just being themselves, have nice day, bye. many people hate that saying ...have a nice day... as for many its just something to say as they are leaving..... and some people do actually mean it... but it's so common in the USA... that it can be either way. the world is full of different people, better to be grateful we find ones saying nicer things, rather than not. imo. bye. |

I tend to believe we are a culture of 'victimhood' and 'offense'. I think I consciously avoid looking for more things to put on a list of what 'offends' me, regional slang or terms of endearment are not on that list. I Try to stick to being offended, mostly, by those things which have the PURPOSE to offend or belittle.
