It would not be turning your back on him. He just makes you feel like
it is with the guilt trip he is laying on you.

You don't even really know this man. You should tell the friends that
hooked you up in the first place and hope all goes well.

I don't see this as your problem. People have to take responsibility
for themselves. But some have to be rescue over and over... they like
it that way.

Someone once wrote that there were too many options on dating sites to
settle on one person. I tend to agree.

Say you go to a party, or a bar, or church, and meet someone you like.
Do you have the option to go back to that same party or bar day after
day to meet others who you might like more? No. But on dating sites
you know there is the possibility that there will an email from someone
new every day who may be the "one."

Don't get me started on the "one" theory. If there is only "one" for
me, that would totally suck. How do you find "one" out of 300 million
people in the US alone???? Not to mention internationally. What if my
"one" is wondering around Italy looking for his "one" (me)???

I don't think most of us want to be players, but I do think
subconsciously we aren't as likely to commit to that one person because
the possibility of meeting someone more compatible with the next email
or post seems endless on a dating site.

I've only block pervs and weirdos. I could not ever imagine arguing
with someone on here to the point of having to block them. If they
continued to bother me trough email after a discussion online in a
public forum, they graduated to weirdo.

I totally agree with iRon. You won't know for sure until you meet in
person and spend time with them. People can be quite different online
than they are in person. And I'm talking from experience.

Been there, done that Freaky. Had a wonderful 14 year relationship. We
are still friends. You can't worry about what other people think, even
her family. She is an adult, she needs to do what she wants. So many
people let others intimidate them. You both have to be confident enough
in yourselves.
