At 18 I gave mine a choice.
1. live at home but you pay half of the bills.
2. They can get their own place and I would help furnish it.
3. they could move back in with their Mom. (long nasty story that isn't going to be told)
But for me it was 18 unless they chose number 1.
just time to be adult for them, and support themselves.

But if they thought they were going to sit around playing video games all day...Think again.whoa

Bingo.

It's the whole sitting around thing that kills me.

I did move back home, due to a fricked up relationship, but I keep the farm up, dad travels out of state on work. Mom has some minor medical issues, so I make up for living at home by helping out and paying less rent, bills etc.

Right now, with the economy and jobs, I'm even more grateful.

But what happens when Mom and Dad aren't around any more?

Then the farm is split between me and my brother. That's what wills are for. It's almost paid off now, so it'll just be general upkeep and such. There's enough blood, sweat and tears of the entire family put into this place, that short of a consensus to sell, it's going to us.

Besides, my parents have at least 30 years left, and my father plans to torment me till he's 120 according to what he says. I'll either have a cabin at the back of the place anyways, or have moved away to escape the craziness! LOL!

Ok, another silly question.

Isn't it difficult to have a romantic life living at home?
Or if you do date, how do guy usually react to you still living at home?

Not judging in any way.

How old should your kids be when they leave home?

When is the best time to push them out of the nest??

Do you think they will have a greater sense of accomplishment when they get out and make their own way?what what what

WELL, first breast feeding should end by 15 anyway, then what with life and school and work,,,I guess about 40 anyway....
....lol,lol,lol....The kids should leave when the money runs out,,,,,YOURS,,,trust me,,,THHEY will be outta there,,,,,lol

Thats kinda funny,
I did not at all realize how poor I was when my son was still at home..Just knew it was rough.
But after he moved out, I about had a heart attack when I still had money left in the bank when I got the next paycheck!!
I'll tell you... Boys will eat you out of the house!!!

Oh ok,,,ha ha, my daughter will be 22 and still lives with me, but then she just finished four years at the university, if she had not lived with me during that time she would have never done that, so the circumstances prevail....

Cudos!!
At least she is smart enough to get a head start to a good living.

If we were in a serious relationship, I would hope that would be enough.
But if she couldn't handle a life without this fantasy world. Then I hope she has a good laptop and a wifi card, because she would be using it from somewhere else.

Trust has nothing to do with it..
Love and mutual respect do!!
