I agree the Holidays are worse when you are alone. I've spent many a holiday/holidays alone....but this year by choice I am working all the holidays. If anything I get to spend them with the elderly at the nursing home where I do work....and for some of those unfortunate souls, they either have no family at all or their families and have basically forgotten them. Thye just never come to visit their "loved" one who resides there. It's so sad.

why do people always think?

the loss of a relationship whether it be by divorce or just and ending is very much the same as "death". It is the death of that said relationship. Some people it takes a short time to recover, others it takes years or maybe not at all. It just depends on the person. Like Lex said, ignore them. It will work out for you in your own time.

would love to go, spent many summer and spring days in the Mtns of NH. The Kangamangus Highway is beautiful this time of year.........all of it is beautiful in the fall. I miss it!!!!
