When you go into the military you take a pledge to defend this nation, even to the point of making the ultimate sacrifice, if that's what's necessary!

The military life is not always pleasant, but military people obey their orders and do their duty!!!

As a vet I am proud and salute those who served, especially those who were wounded or paid the ultimate price for their duty to God and country!!!!

Just to clarify what the topic of this thread was all about. I asked questions of AMERICAN Vets and those currently serving in the military several questions.
What was ur reason for joining?
Do u consider urself a murderer?
Would u prefer to help or kill people?
I ask for honest answers.

To the first question: To better myself.

The second: No.

The third: I would prefer to help people.

If you are going to quote scripture, please provide the book, chapter and verse.

And, just who do you consider 'meek.'?

So far you have provided a broad, vague and ambiguous statement. More clarification, please.

Again, as per the norm, I must state again:

Oh, my the childhood games. Do you not know that this type of talk does not get one elected, such as your candidate? Talk does not get anyone elected. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Sen. John McCain was basking in President Bush's support of him not too long ago, now he has to do everything he can to distance himself from him and his disastrous policies!!!

Too late!!

The Bush Jr. tar baby is gonna stick to him all the way to November!!

Funny how the diehard Republicans embraced McCain after their
Reagan wannabe Mitt Romney, bit the dust.

They didn't even want McCain, but they wanted Obama even less, so they're gonna vote for someone they don't want to vote against someone they don't want even more!!!!

It's time for a change!!!!

Ummm, please advise what 'change.' I have yet to hear specific details, facts, agenda, that puts forth what is meant by this generic, ambiguous word "change."

Thank you

Lindyy

Any change from the destructive policies of the neocons carried out by their lackey puppets George Bush Jr. and D i c k Cheney is a step in the positive direction.

The article is on Mr. McCain leaving a spouse on her death bed...huh The issue here was his "morals". Marital affairs...such as who left whom, and at what time...this is a B issue. Topic A should be our nation's future, our foriegn affairs not marital affairs, our health care & public education. Bill Clinton got a BJ...so what! look at where the economy, education, and foreign affairs where at the time. Heaven forbid I ever run for office, being an unmarried single mom I'd hate to have my morals judged based on my past relationships.

Do you trust McCain on the economy?

He couldnt even answer Ron Paul's question during the debate. His knowledge of economics is Zero (He admits this) and instead turns to one of the biggest crooks in Washington for advice.
Phil Gramm!

I think McCain is a boob. But not because of this article, or any other mud slinging hogwash.

Cool, drinker I was going to tell you to go look at Gramm and ENRON (deregulation of Energy futures, connected to current oil prices) or Gramm and UBS (Housing mortgage crisis)
Gramm's wife was a Lobyist for ENRON and helped him slip it in as a rider on an 11,000 page appropriations bill. After the bill had went through commitees and preliminary votes on the Senate floor!

Now McCain turns to him for economic advice and its rumored he will appoint him as Treasury secretary if elected.

Fanta,

And let's not forget the Keating 5:

Perhaps you should have made yourself clearer.

Maybe like this:

'There are close to a billion Catholics who believe in God and
evolution. This FACT ignores the Jews and Muslims who believe
in evolution and God and the millions of other Christians who
believe in evolution and God. '

Carol McCain is still alive and she supports John McCain for president. They grew apart while he was imprisoned and tortured for 5 years. She doesn't blame him for their divorce and she has no ill will towards him for it, why should anyone else have the right to?

I agree with you that Carol McCain is still alive.

I don't know why she supports McCain after all he's done to her, but that's a mystery I suppose only Carol McCain knows the answer to.

You agree with me? Agree? It's a fact! It's not my opinion... "In my opinion, Carol McCain is alive..." You can't have opinions about facts. You are either right (by accepting the fact) or you are wrong (by refusing to accept the fact).

So regardless of if you "agree" with me or not, Carol McCain is alive. Also regardless of your opinion of knowledge on the subject, she supports her ex-husband for president and says that he is a good man.

McCain lived through a hell that most of us will never experience. The strongest person would be changed by the experience. McCain cheated on his wife 30 years ago. If you think the guy hasn't changed in those 30 years and if you think that you know the full story then there isn't really anything that anyone can say to change your mind...you obviously don't care what Carol McCain thinks about the subject.

Forget it.

I was only trying to acknowledge the fact of Carol McCain being still alive.

If you can't accept that, then there's nothing more I can do.

 How many divorces and illegitament kids does it take to disqualify a person for president?laugh John McCain doesnt really believe in "GOD" he says he believes in evolution. laugh

He has one divorce and no has illegitimate kids of which I am aware. The claims in this thread are libel. His wife wasn't dying (she's still alive 30 years later). He has no illegitimate children.

There are close to a billion Catholics who believe in God and evolution. That's ignoring the Jews and Muslims who believe in evolution and God and the millions of other Christians who believe in evolution and God.

On a more human note, I believe that people can be redeemed. I know that everyone makes mistakes and if someone learns from those mistakes, then who are we to judge? And ignoring that, we can never know the true situation, only the talking points. Real life is more complex than can be put into a short hit piece by a liberal writer.

I was raised Catholic and your statement that Catholics are ignoring 'the Jews and Muslims who believe in evolution and God and the millions of other Christians who believe in evolution and God' is just preposterous.

Pope Benedict XVI has reached out to these groups to find common ground where possible.

I'm not a big fan of this pope, I though John Paul was better, but fair is fair.

As for McCain, the reason he is brought to account for things he has done in the past is because Barack Obama has.

Conservative pundits like Sean Hannity and others constantly attack Barack Obama on his character and past.

Things have even been fabricated about his life that are patently false, yet the right-wing press and radio continues to spew these lies and venom.

I wish it could be a clean campaign, without all these character attacks.

It should be about the issues.

But the conservative movement are the ones who started the character attacks, so if they're going to raise character questions about Obama, then it's only fair that questions also be raised about McCain as well.
