Would you be upset if your partner had many friends of the opposite sex, that he was always talking to,and emailing?

Nope. I have a lot more male friends than femals friends. The key is, to not let your partner feel left out, or make them feel you are hiding things or there is more to this than friendship

why does it have to be a he? but since it is a he, he should be respectable to the one he is with and realize the field closed when the relationship started........

most of my friends are guys. But I make sure they are aware i'm with someone and if we go out..i introduce him to all my friends

it's a matter of respecting each other. I would be a hypocrite if I had a problem with him having friends that are girls but I expect the same respect

My ex had lots of friends of both sexes and it did not really bother me, until the male ones became "friends with benefits" Next time, she don't get male friends, I learn slow, but I learn goodgrumble

I agree!

I think the people who are mad about friends of the opposite sex are just insecure in themselves.

so that's it? You have to ditch all of your friends because you are in a relationship?

That makes being in a relationship even less enticing.

Men and women should be able to have friends of the opposite, just not for anything unless it is casual chatter or emails. It is the right thing to do

not if they are truly just friends. I would think that only people who are insecure and jealous would worry about such things. If someone is going to cheat, they are going to cheat, and making them give up their friends isn't going to stop them. People don't like to be caged and controlled; at least, I don't react very well to it. My partner either trusts me or he doesn't. If he doesn't then we don't have much of a relationship to begin with.

If he told me they were just friends, then I'd have to believe him...any new female friends should, out of respect for our relationship, befriend us both. happy

not saying that at all.......friends can only be trusted so far, but true friends will not interfere or make things difficult in you and your partners life......that's my story and i'm sticking to it.......  drinker

no, they wouldn't interfere or make things difficult, but they wouldn't just go away either. Relationships come and go, but friends are for life.
