It's all about what each person is or isn't attracted to... It doesn't bother me if someone isn't attracted to me or my body, I will find someone that is

men are greedy, selfish and many dont belive that beauty is the eye of the beholder... as when it comes to me looking at a guy i dont go for there looks, i go towards there personality, and if 's'' then there history.. but sometimes there ''s'' personality doesnt show up untill later and then you know the relationship isent going anywhere

I don't think it's fair to consider someone as shallow just because they aren't attracted to someone that's overweight... however, if he breaks up with you cuz you gained 5 pounds than he's a jerk

No I didn't say that...but If you take care of your body, eat healthy and workout means you care about yourself...I like that as I do it too. Why would you not to that in the first place? If you don't care about how you look it shows... ( not you in particular, I mean in general) |

Sorry, I know this is addressed to men but I wanted to put in my 2 cents. Like us, men are bombarded by the media's idea of what is considered sexy. That means they want the same unnaturally skinny, yet unrealistically large breasted woman that is all over tv, magazines, etc. It's not reality.
Any man who overlooks who you are as a person because the packaging doesn't meet the criteria simply doesn't deserve to know you. Right? |

Problem is, what's sexy to one may not be sexy to another.
Everybody has preferences, and just because you don't happen to agree with the next person's preferences, it doesn't mean they're right or wrong, or much of anything really, other than they're what what that particular person finds appealing or desirable. A lot of people won't date a smoker. It really doesn't bother me if someone smokes, but I won't date a drinker. Who's right? Who's wrong? Why? There was a woman on this site who used to send me e-mails haranguing me because my standards excluded her as a dating prospect. I explained the reasons for my standards several times, and it still wasn't good enough for her. See, at some point, it's just not my problem what other people think of me or my standards. Those people are not me, they don't have the same experiences and values and desires as I have. So they're in no position to judge. As I'm in not position to judge them or their standards. So I don't. I might not understand them, I might (for myself) disagree with them totally. I might find them utterly abhorrent. But they have the right to set their own parameters in their own way. As does everyone. |

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I know a lot of skinny women who are absolute dogs because of their personalities (or lack thereof.)
