I am tired of people lumping me in with the other people that believe in Jesus that they have a problem with.

I am not in here to stir the pot.I use the scriptures to show a point. That is me. I have had friends tell me that i in regular talking say scripture without even realizing it. Not that i quote it but the meaning is thier. I can not help that. It has become a part of me. You do not understand what i am saying as being on topic. i have a problem relaying my thoughts in a clear way.all the scripture i gave though to me at least is about origins but you do not seek a origin within the scriptures without searching how it came to be in it. i try to show things and where they came from. it is not easy to explain something as dove. people tell me all the time it does not matter.to me that is the problem no one wants to buck the system.this has even spilled over to our govt.and we defend it.satan is called the g-d of this world.many customs come from him.yahshua spoke about traditons and blasted it.traditions eveyone had accepted for 100's of years.he told them get back to the basics. theses traditions are only designed to hold you back and control you. men in high places with lots of power over this world.yahshua said thy word is truth. i know i am up against a brick wall.that is ok. the worlds religions have gone so far that at the world council of churches from all over the world. now this was conference of denominations who believe the messiah rose from the dead.had as thier keynote speaker a witch.that is no get together of the scriptures that i have ever seen.saul but i will leave it alone.the main theme in my opinion in the church today is traditions not the word. ask your gramma what she thinks she has seen a drastic change i would believe.i believe in the law not the letter for we have yahshua.the law has been made out to be bad. yet it is called in the NT just,rightous and holy. i can not change. i do not believe anyone is better than me. we are all made from him. shalom ..miles

the problem isn't you speaking your own words but the scripture you provided isn't proof that God told us to start a holiday once a year to celebrate

we are supposed to celebrate every day in our lives. The topic is about the once a year holidays

I do understand because I do know scripture. Scripture doesn't mean anything in this thread because they don't prove Christians started the HOLIDAYS

Do you know why we hang stockings on the fireplace? Long ago it was said that Saint Nicholas (now called Santa Claus) threw 3 coins down a chimney of the home of 3 poor sisters. Each of the coins landed inside separate stockings left on the hearth (fireplace) to dry. It is now a modern tradition to hang stockings there in hopes that we might have the same good fortune.
