“The cave of wonders”
He whispered in her ear.
Grinning in anticipation,
Grabbing her hand,
“C’mon I’ll take you there“…………

He shook his head
At the doubt in her eyes.
“Together we’ll face your fear,
Hold on, I’m here, we’re gonna take that ride.”

The entrance to the cave
She’d known of all her life.
Peering in, considering,
But backing down every time.

So now they faced that entry,
Taking courage from his strength,
Her curiosity rampant with
Her urge to investigate.

They entered the cave;
It’s darkness pervading all around,
Something told her, “don’t think,
Just feel“, so she didn’t make a sound.

The earth, it gently trembled,
As skin brushed against skin.
He kept her eyes glued to his,
Love shining from within.

The walls pulsed in rhythm
Encouraging love’s twins.
Delight in every movement
As their exploration begins.

As deep as they could,
They both did go
Arriving back, and then.

With shining eyes,
No longer shy,
She hollered out
“Again!”
