I was raised strict catholic and raised that marriage is between two people and cheating is a automatic ticket to hell

so then it wouldn't work for you. That's cool. But first, we were not really talking about cheating so much as open marriage. Cheating implies deception. We are talking about a mutual agreement between married people.

Not everyone is catholic. I am not religious at all, so to me, I see everyone's life as their own to determine. If someone wants to have a marriage like that, and they are hurting no one, who am I to judge them; even if I would not do it myself.
