This is the perfect thread to say what I need to say before I back down from this forum.

I for one am not well suited for this forum, or so it seems, so I do believe I'll be moving on. Here is why if anyone is interested--

I posted a thread yesterday about something that really is rather important (HAARP/ELF Alert thread), backed it up with links noting the science and relevant charts behind my reasoning for posting the information, and was met with a string of almost entirely ridiculing posts... indifferent as if I'm some kind of head case.

Although I figured I'd get some of such posts I didn't realize I'd be met with so much of it, especially given my attempt was simply to inform, and inform with evidence. I can't find one bit of what I posted that was ingenuine in any way or fashion, but especially in any sense...the common kind.

I assure those who ridiculed me that I am not a head case. I am a well educated, well informed, productive, and caring person and I'll never be anything less, nor do I want to sublimate that to fit in somewhere just for the sake of being accepted.

Fortunately, I have made a few wonderful acquaintances here and am cultivating relationships with those people off forum and do count myself lucky for that (and I heartedly thank the forum owners for this opportunity), but for the most part a lot of you folks don't inspire welcome unless what is being posted are cookie cutter type of posts and threads. From my experience it's not out of hand for me to note that intolerance reigns free here.

So, I gather it's just in my best interest not to be active on the forum while this kind of intolerance prevails. To be active is...well, I don't like admitting it, but it's hurtful. I'd rather just not be active than not to be my good intentioned self.

BTW, the HAARP thread was not the only incidence of being ridiculed for sharing information from a position of experience and education, albeit out of the ordinary experiences and information, so I'm not just going off half-cocked here.

I do wish y'all all the best in your quests for love and happiness.

Peace flowerforyou

Some people only seem to be happy when they are ridiculing others. They just don't see that one is trying to pass on advice or help. grumble grumble grumble
I get negative replies in many of my threads as well. But more often than not, the remarks are hopefully and thankfully positive.
You should just ignore the negatives and lap up any positives.

Those who do post negative things about us tend to have a different outlook on how we see things
I guess in my case it's because of my English sense of humour.
I just let negative remarks wash over me.

Don't let the b*tchers get to you.

I dont understand the personal attacks either...how can someone claim you are "wrong" when you're expressing an opinion????grumble

I dont take it personally and Ive met some really cool people on this site. And their opinions are what mattres to me I guess if you're not talking about what kind of sexual position you'd engage in and with who..you can pretty much expect to be "attacked/bashed" for just about anything you say.

sometimes it feels like I never left grade-school, errr...except for the sex talk, of course...blushing

Well heres the thing about that. People ask, you answer, its not the answer they want to hear so they attack. You retaliate, and they go running crying foul. I don't think it is the insults that need curbing so much as people just growing some thicker skin, and quit taking everything that is contrary to their beliefs as an attack. Grow the **** up in other words

I think perhaps Rob is on to something here. This forum (along with everything else on the WWW) puts he control of visitation/content/participation in the hands of the individual. If I post and no one likes it--OK..that's the way it goes. I do sometimes take a break from JSH but not out of anger--just to take a break.

As for debate turning personal--just don't fall for that. People turn debates personal when they have run low on substance. Look at it that way and it's somewhat hard to really become offended.

Why are opinions/views not respected? Granted not everyone will ever agree on everything but let's pretend to be civilized and respect our fellow members, instead of turning threads into personal attacks. (sharing my opinionflowerforyou)

opinions are great, i like to see other people point of view. but what i DONT LIKE is personal attacks on people. thats wrong

exactly. Like when someone posts an opinion on something and someone else tells them to stop trying to be a doctor.

I try my best to always think before I speak, so guess I expect the same (duh! rarely happens:wink:) my gripe truly is not "usually" with what is said but the way it is said/directed to me. I respect everyone's opinion and am thick skinned, just curious to hear about how others feel on this topic
