Well language is the obvious one.
Fanny pack (US) is one that makes me think twice and blush in polite company before I realise that what you mean is a bum bag (UK). (Do we still have those or did they get left behind with the 1980's?) Then there's rubbers. In the UK we use these to rub out mistakes. In the US you use them to prevent mistakes. Cars are made out of different components. There you have hoods, fenders, plants and trunks. Here we would put these things on our heads, play them, water them or wear them at the swimming pool. Oh I could go on and on and on. |

One of the main differences is that America leads and we follow?

and take note of the word ALUMINIUM, especially the f*ckin letter I that follows the N. Its not a silent I.
and dont argue. we invented the language, we should know. |

Hmm, makes me think of the word "p****d" Americans say they're "p****d" when they are angry, us Brits say p****d when we've had a few
However, us Brits say we're "p****d off" when we are angry. I get confused when I speak to my American friends and they tell me they are P and then I look at the time and it's only 10am,bit early for a drink, yes? I also have to ask, why do Americans pronounce "Bob" as Baab or stop as staap, there is no "a" in Bob or stop Not picking on you guys, just having a laugh.Oh, before I go, we Brits say "mum" |

In Canada if we don't like someone (there dum) we call them a "gear box" USA "dum ass" UK "muppet" or my fav "wanker" lol
A car hood here UK "bonnet" |

UK....."Dived" into the pool USA.............Dove into the pool A dove is a bird !!!!
We say boot of a car, you say trunk of a car We emphasise the "ror" in mirror, you say mirr You say "ZEE" we say "ZED" Colour (UK) color (USA) You go to the "bathroom" when you go to the toilet, we go to the "loo" To -may-to (USA) To-ma-to (UK) Let's call the whole thing off !!!! |

How could you discuss the sexual differences between the UK and the US unless you had done an exhaustive survey.
Considering 75% of Americans dont have a passport and despite the fact that the U.S. military has been in Iraq for more than four years, six out of ten young Americans couldn't find it on a map of the Middle East. And nine out of ten couldn't find Afghanistan on a map of Central Asia, so they are unlikely to travel to the UK. We are unlikely to travel to the US to do a shag-fest survey (although I would volunteer if someone paid me) so, the best we can hope for is to meet some hot, fit North American while we travel on holiday, and hope they are not lost ... Check this out, if you have any reason to doubt me! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AluLQdzQPMgANhQnhwt.zMTsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071223181236AAoq2aN&show=7#profile-info-4ZQ7oRiRaa |

The BIGGEST difference between Americans and Brits:
Brits think 100 miles is a long way, Americans think 100 years is a long time. |

Americans think 100 years is a long period of time. For some reason they need the period in there, even though a 'period' to an American is a full-stop. Oh and don't forget the E.V.A. or to you and me Spacewalk. If anyone owns a car and is not sitting in it, then they are E.V.A Extra Vehicular Activity. |

"I could care less..." I mean.... That means you care... It means that you have the capacity to care less about this situation. Why Americans can't just strick to "I couldN'T care less" I'll never know.

Actually, they decide to completely erradicate it from the word [as with many other words]. It annoys me even more when they try to claim they invented the language. |
