Although they use phychological testing in an effort to screen recruits,I'm sure like any system, some fall through the cracks. My opinion is that it could and does happen everywhere all the time. I once lived in a small town in Oklahoma where there was a scandal over the county Sherrif's secret policy of picking up strays, even luring them, then bringing the doomed animals out in the country to use for target practice...
Dude was busted when the Mayor's visiting family's dog dissappeard...

don't care if the person was in the army, marines, airforce,navy, high school, police, president or anything.
a person that will do cruel things to innocent helpless animals or people and childern are just the lowest of lows  I'm really disgusted

Okay so I get that they are protecting us .. but what did that little puppy do .. and it was in Hawii so it is not like they were killing it because of the diseases and things that wild dogs cats rats ect.. you think because he is a soldier he is above reproach .. He did something WRONG .. he disgraced the very uniform that he is wearing ...

i've watched the video over and over...and i really think it was a dead puppy that he threw.
people that are in dangerous or morbid situations often develop a warped sense of humor...A&P students often toss around body parts...it's a way of dealing with the overwhelming stress. i'm really hoping that he just thought it would be a humor break to toss a dead puppy, which doesn't bother me in the least. if the puppy is shown to have been alive, then i believe i'd feel differently. i don't want anyone that's capable of brutalizing animals to be holding a gun. of course, the flip-side is that possibly the soldier has distanced himself from his humanity a bit to make putting up with the pain that they see every day a bit more livable. |
