I know thisll kill any chance of me meeting anyone here but things arent looking that great anyways so.

say a girl started hitting me, and in defence I hit her back, could I go to jail?! I know people are all like, OMG!!. males should hit females. I didnt, but if I wanted to... would it be against the law??

i dont think you would go to jail if you only gave her a slap across the face and she didnt need any hospital treatment,if you caused her bad injuries then you could go to jail, you would be done for assualt.

Why would he slap her at all? Unless she was big enough to hurt him, the only reason to hit her at all would be payback... A bigger man would walk away... I mean if she was Chynna and could kick his butt then maybe but other than that no reason to hit or slap back...

ive been slapped and hit by exes, its a common thing. when my sister was pregnant, her ex kicked her in the tummy. she always had bruises on here, men who hit women arnt real MEN, there just pathetic.

on the flip side...what does it say about women that hit men??? or adults hitting kids???or anyone hitting anyone for that matter flowerforyou

Well, as we said no one should hit anyone... However, I am not against a swat on the hand or bottom if a child needs it... but we live in a different world now.. where we used to get swatted or the switch, the Spock theory is it only teaches aggressiveness.. I agree to a point but I also see how different kids are now and they probably could have used a switch on the behind... There's a difference between beating a child and disciplining a child.. The corner and talking doesn't always work... jmho

not talking about spankings. i'm a believer in that. one is done out of love and trying to teach - the other is out of anger. I know there are kids that could use it drinker

In the state of Texas when in a heated argument if you so much as touch them with your finger it is consider assault. Believe me I do know this one for a fact happen to a friend he did not touch her just try to push her away after she came after him. He went to jail was on Easter weekend a few years ago no Judge to be seen till Monday so he was in there for 3 nights due to that.

Not good actually only way one can normally get off the charges is if you turned and tried to walk away and they come after you again and you are cornered where there is no outlet and your only choice is to turn and defend yourself. Yes learned that in the Criminal Justice Classses I took a few years ago. At least that is how it is in Texas but... each state is different. And the smaller towns at times will handle cases different.

well if a women hits a man its exactly the same.

and its illegal to smack children. one of my family members used to smack her child so hard, you could see the pain in her face,it was horrible. she would chase her up the stairs and hit her with a stick, its truly awful. this was a few years ago, it gives me great pleasure, that in around 2 years when shes 11, she remmebers what her mom did to her, and i hope she gives her mom hell. she truly deserves it.

And what would that do except teach the child it is ok to reciprocate the attack? It would also help mold the child into another person like her mother. the best thing to do is provide a shoulder for the child to talk and cry on, and whatever support you can, even if it is by calling child protective services and trying to have her removed from the home.

In all honesty, the only thing vengeance gets, is more vengeance.

flowerforyou flowerforyou what comes around goes around, she will get it back, and she deserves it. she wasnt smaked once a week, it would be every day, it was child abuse.

exactly my point. If she is abusing the child, get the child out of the situation (legally). the only thing promoting vengeance will do is continue to cycle of abuse. not only that but the child will grow up thinking it is ok to do the same thing to her child(ren). This is a proven fact; victims of child abuse tend to grow up to be child abusers themselves.
