I was wanting to get some opinions on the potential Pitfalls for dating someone older..or how older women felt about dating someone younger..say 10 years younger? I'll message someone older then me every once and a while on this site and others and don't get taking seriously and actually get toyed with a bit..game playing ect...

Normally, I wouldn't date someone 10 years younger, but every once in a while, I meet someone who has seen a lot more in life and that acts and seems older. In those cases, I might make an exception. Some people say age is just a number. But I say it is an accumulation of life experiences and can I relate or not.

I would think twice about it; dating a man 10 years younger than I.

Well, maybe you should explain what you mean by "toyed with"? If there is a connection or attraction beyond the physical, then ten years is not all that much. But the actual ten years matters. For example, twenty versus thirty in comparison to thirty versus forty... can you explain? How old are you? |

I used to take it as just a number to0 but i realize that sometimes it means alot. |

I dated a 22yr old and I'm 32. Other then our Army careers we had nothing in common..I don't drink he did bad, he loves the bars, I hate them, and he slept to 3pm, I'm up at 4am...I just think it depends on the couple and if they want to try and make it work...Anything is possiable...

If I am comforable being in a loving partnership with a man nearly ten years older than me, wouldn't he have to be comfortable with loving a woman ten years younger than him?
It flies both ways... |

I'll make the point clear that i'm interested, but they don't respond exactly in kind but continue to talk to me as if they are...i dunno if that makes any sense. And age comparison i'm more talking about 28 to 38 or 40 i guess..i'm 28 |

I am just back dating and all the dates I have been with younger men. I never thought that would be the case because when I was single I dated older men. I have to say I am having a blast so I don't think anyone should limit themselves because of age.

I'm a firm believer that age is just a number. While I wouldn't date, say, a 19-year-old because the maturity level is probably just not there, I would consider anyone 22 and up. We are people, not numbers - I don't wish to be defined by the number of years since my birth, and I don't define others that way.

well my ex-husband is five years younger then me,and several of the men I talk to are up to at least 10 years younger.Though I dont believe I would ever date or have ever dated a man that much younger then men.We could be friends thats for certain..I guess it would all depend on the variables. But on the flip side of the coin I have a hard time dating someone 10 plus years older..I just have to really get to know the person 1st..

It doesn't seem to work. Eventually the novelty wears off.

And age comparison i'm more talking about 28 to 38 or 40 i guess..i'm 28 I don't think that has a lot to do with age, it's just part of the internet game. Many people talk to a lot of others and play the "numbers" game. By this they e-mail lots of guys/girls and see who responds. They are not really truly interested in just one person, but rather the one who responds first... even if you are talking, or dating for that matter, if someone else pops up they like better or becomes more serious that was already in the picture, then "poof". You just have to take it with a grain of salt, because you have no idea what is really going on behind the scenes. |

I am pretty open minded, I'll go ten years either way. They can all be a little juvenile at times, no matter what their age!
