I pay $120 a month for my PRIVATE healthcare as I am self-employed. My deductible is $3500. If someone can't afford $120 a month for healthcare I say give up your DirectTV subscription and unlimited free texting and calls with your cell phone. easy to say if ya don't have kids or dependents to support. very well.on my way to get ice cream!!yayy!! that right there is an unneeded luxury |

Cute mom,
Better yet - I eat so I have energy to work, take care of children, clean house, do errands - basically, be a functioning member of society. |

The polarization and stereotyping of left and right are exactly the reasons Washington is so screwed up. Everyday I hear people complain about it and they excercise the same ignorance that the talking heads do.
Most "working" people have the same problems and desires, But are torn apart by social issues that these politicians have no intentions of adressing anyway. They say what their base wants to hear when the subject is ripe and let it fade away when the next soundbite presents itself. My personal opinion is that national security is the main issue. Without it, All other subjects are mute. Have a nice day, G. |

There are different opinions on the war and everyone has a right to that opinion, But the fact is that we ARE there now and simply walking away at this juncture is not prudent. I believe that leaving those that supported the cause (regardless of our own opinions)will create enemies of those that aren't slaughtered by the radicals. None of us here are knowledgable enough or riteous enough to make such decisions from the comfort of our laptops. |

and the rest of us...work for fun? you can have your ice cream, but it is a luxury. thanks for the needless name calling Having a treat once in awhile is not a luxury. It is psychological necessity. What kind of life would we have if we didn't bestow a treat upon ourselves after working hard all week. Putting down something as little as ice cream. Come on! Give me a break. It is a celebration of living and getting outside of our humdrum life of the stress of children and work. We earn it! |

Doing something for ourselves to keep a pyschological balance in our lives is not a luxury. Ice cream once in awhile is such a very little thing to contribute to that balance.

Last time I checked I could pick up a carton of ice cream for less than $2 at my local sav-a-lot .... I don't think thats luxury just a sugar fix . Ofcourse if you don't spend the $2 on the luxurious ice cream you may be able to pay for your own health care in ohh 20 years or so ? |
