Another issue would be that, technically, a HUGE portion of the US is overweight. How would they define obesity? According to the CDC, a 5'9 person over 169 lbs. is overweight and over 203lbs. is obese.

Right. It would totally kill business, which would put people out of work and so on...

the only way I see this Bill having a chance is if the AMA, Hospitals, Private Physicians, The American Heart Association and The Diabetes Foundation all Backed it. but that won't come close to the Money the Restaurant Lobby and Lobby for anyone associated with Weight Loss will come up with to buy congress and lets not forget the Constitutionality of this.

"Handy" You are awfully handy with handing out your youtube information. We saw the "vedos" last time (I noticed you suddenly learned how to spell it)... If anyone is interested I can surely post that link.. the one to your most recent thread, that is. I do not believe that coming into one site and spreading word on how we can get "your truth" on another site is what we are looking for. I was truly offended by this the last time, and frankly I'm disturbed you keep doing it.

I think in the future.. I'll just report it.

Yeah I was going to say...there's no need for another site, feel free to post and discuss the issue here. And I understand that using a video means that you don't have to type, but for the love of god please type the words correctly, or at least phonetically.

In fact, ladies and gentlemen.. I think I do feel the need to share this. I went to the youtube pages... well, read the thread first before you all decide what is the best course of action to follow. laugh

Its a fake bill. The Governer of Mississippi just want to bring health awarness to the people. Mississippi is rated the fattest state.

not sure about any bill, but look in BK McD taco bell And most other fast food joints, you will see mostly overweight customers due to the greasy fried food. the healthiest and the most trim and fit are the ones who do their own cooking......

It is a misconception that all obese people are obese because they have no self control! Your friend has no self control! Your example does not apply to me! Nan

I have seen the information on this bill. TALK ABOUT DISCRIMINATION! They are proposing a scale at the door of a restaurant and if your BMI is 30 or over the restaurant cannot serve you or they will be fined.

If this is the case then we need to remove all alcohol from the shelves and ban it and ban cigarettes completely for starters and then we can work on those thrill seekers out there who like to do activities that might kill them, like skiing, scuba diving, etc..... and then we can work on all those evil car deaths and then the airplanes, trains etc.... And then we cannot have anything in our house that is dangerous such as carpeting and fireplaces, etc....

Come on people there are way better things for our legislatures to do then this garbage, right?

Technically it is a real bill. It just has no shot in hell of passing.

Okay well lets just talk about obesity ,, it ia a huge problem no pun inteneded and will cost billions in health care .. I don't think that preventing people from eating in restaurants will help this but I do think that the child hood obesity problem and the growing masses of young diabetics is at a crisis point..

also how come you can type and spell and speak every other post.. me thinks sybil is on the other end...

that is by bmi which is not a good measure since by its standards Gov arnold of Ca would be obese...
