I heard about it! I don't know how to feel about it. on one hand obese people have no control so buffets are a bad thing, a friend of mine is around 400lbs and is about 5'8" and we go to the Chinese trough and he'll eat three sometimes four times what I do and faster than I do so with that I think these people need help. on the other hand the govt. as far as I'm concerned has no business telling us how to live, but what is better for the obese person?

no control? i think that's going a bit far. maybe, no selfcontrol.

On the other hand tho, not everyone who is overweight is that way because they over eat.

it's hard to produce fat without intake

Another issue would be that, technically, a HUGE portion of the US is overweight. How would they define obesity? According to the CDC, a 5'9 person over 169 lbs. is overweight and over 203lbs. is obese.

there does seem to be a difference between medically and socially overweight. what is considered fat is actually obese.

I think that letting children become obese could be considered child abuse...

most times, i'll agree. usually it's due to inactivity and poor diet. children aren't supposed to sit inside all day, their days are meant to be spent running and all that.

Everyone knows the weight is a potential health problem, you cannot not know it in our society today. Some people are going to be larger it is inherent, just as some people are going to be too thin no matter what they do. It is the differences of our bodies. Not a point to discriminate against others. Each of us are the responsibility of our own health. But some health issues are not caused from over eating or weight but will lead to weight on a person. It is just too complicated for others to judge another, period.

mostly true. but many people dismiss their weight as something that is out of their control and make little to no effort to change things. most things in life take hard work, weight loss is surely one of them

i agree that it's wrong to try to stop anyone from doing anything, it's their own body. it just blows to sit next to someone on a plane and not have an option of using the arm rest
