Ok, I've dated a guy on here for about 8 months, said he was looking for long term, eventually marriage. Well he still had adds out there online on singles sites. Long story short...he had a fiance, and other online girlfriends. Dumped him. But the guy I'm seeing now is also still on dating sites (as am I cause I just don't know where this is going). What is your opinion on this.....

My personal experience from using dating sites is you can't really trust the guys you meet on here. I've had a lot of bad experiences using these things, so I have stopped looking for a real relationship on here and look more for people to network with.

Well if your just dating and there is no seriouseness or
comittment in the relationship-
You should still keep on with the sites. Why would you take yourself off the market (so to speak) if you are still considered advailable?

I think it's the level of comittment in the relationship that determines to stay on or not...

my general rule is, if you've decided to be exclusive, post on the dating sites, "Currently in a relationship."

BTW, if he feels free to stay out there, so should you... perhaps that'll wake him up! lol!

If you're not exclusively dating, there's no problem, but if both you and him agree to be exclusive, then neither should be on the dating sites. JMO

Never dated from these sites...

You may want to get to know them for better before dating them.

Well, I don't really see a differance between dating sites and meeting someone in person.. There's douche's on both.. At least you're finding out that these guys are doing that through these sites.. Where, outside of it.. You probably wouldn't..

Ok bad typing is catching I think I'll repeat....

You may want to get to know them a little better before dating them. Maybe they don't know that you want to be exclusive

Thanks for all the input. I think I am going to really have to decide if I really trust and like this guy and have a talk with him to see what exactly he is looking for, and being exclusive.

True, sometimes I think it is just a big game. Is it too much to ask for honesty???

Well, i wish we could all know if someone was lying or not!!!

In dating, i think u just have to already know what ur looking for. Have a talk with this guy and see if u could be compatible....JMO

In the world we live in, most people just do not want to be honest. Why? Cause we are selfish, and like someone mentioned, it is all about what "I" want, what "I" desire. Remember, we live in the "me" generation, and honesty (for alot of people, men and women) went out the door long ago. Sad really.

In your case, get to know this dude and see what happens. Right now, he could be someone to build a relationship with. Or, he could be just another number that didn't quite measure up. You can have success meeting someone on an online dating site. I have seen it.

Dont trust right away, give it time. It is better to start a casual talk to some you meet online with respect and eventually you will know if he is into playing games or not.

I have met a lot of different guys online, from different dating sites including chatrooms and didnt last talking to them for that long but this guy I have met on here (JSH) 8 months ago is still with me. We talk everyday, online and on the phone and we found eachother to be good together so we plan to meet soon, within this year, since he has to be prepared for everything (plane tickets, pocket money, engagement ring LOL) and we have told our families about it.

So why not take your time, I believe you will find the One in time or rather your true love will come to you at the least that you expect it. For the meantime, have fun meeting new singles online and have my best wishes with you flowerforyou

Congratulations newg
happy
This online dating thing is like a bad movie I feel forced to watch over and over.
Again, it seems like I'm experiencing the 'disappearing-guy' thing. Talk almost everyday and then now its the 3rd day and haven't heard from him. Lastnight when I logged on my messenger, I saw him online for like 2 mins then he was off...I won't pretend to know everything and only a$$ make assumptions --- thouhg its soo hard not to get discouraged.

My girlfriend is on this site, although we didn't meet here; and she has no problem with me being on JSH. It really isn't an issue, since there's nobody else datable (as far as my own standards go) here, and nobody closer than 897,000 miles will talk to me anyway. I am perfectly safe from ever being the target of any real "interest"!
