Jesus’ death upon the cross would be unnecessary if reincarnation were true.

I can also see why Christianity denies the idea of incarnation.

JB

Jeannie....NOWHERE does it say We Chrsitians deny the Incarnation ( God made flesh) !!!

This is just ANOTHER EXAMPLE..of how you come on this board and TWIST words..and put words in people's mouth!!!

Maybe you are not even aware you are dong this.

You misunderstand my statement. Christians do deny the idea of the incarnation of all souls. (They call it reincarnation)

They claim that only their God incarnated to earth. (No one else.) For humans, we are told that we have only one life, and then its either heaven or hell.

Is this not what you believe or do you now believe in reincarnation?flowerforyou

Jeannie....
There are 6000 children in China, left orphans now, because of the cyclone that hit China......there is a desperate need in China for food and water and much help and prayers !!!

1000's are dead in China.

1000's in the world are suffering and needing help!

Personally, maybe we all need to put our focus on helping and caring and praying for those folks right now, who are in desperate need of help..instead of just debating here on this board.

:heart::heart::heart:

I am sorry for the death and suffering in the world. I used to let it weigh heavy on my soul. But this world will always be full of suffering and death. I believe that is the way it is allowed to be.

I gave up trying to save the world, and I personally have no means of bringing food or water to people in china. They are in God's hands. flowerforyou

flowerforyou JeannieBean--You may want to keep in mind that the account given earlier on this thread about Hubbard was extremely biased.flowerforyou Its curious that there are always controversial accounts of religious founders. flowerforyou Even the Biblical prophets had their sins.flowerforyou All humans are of value and all can be redeemedflowerforyou

You know very well we Christians DON'T believe in Reincarnation.......but here you go again ....with your subtle "Insinuation" that we Now might beleive in Reincarnation.
I rebuke that .

God said we have ONLY ONE Life , then Comes the Judgement.
No repeat lives Jeannie...nope...sorry.....we all have ONE life on this earth ONLY, and then we face the Judgement.

No escape from the judgement.
No reincarnation and second chances.
Nope.

Paul Twitchell was an American journalist and novelist who explored a variety of religious traditions during the nineteen-forties and fifties. He was interested in Scientology, Yogananda's Self Realization Fellowship, Theosophy, the New Thought movement, and the Radha Soamis (a group that most closely resembles the mainstream Sikh tradition of Northwestern India).

Eckankar resembles most closely the Radha Soami tradition espoused by Kirpal Singh, the late leader of the Ruhani Satsang, an organization headquartered in Old Delhi, India. This tradition is sometimes called "neo-Sikhism" partly because it rejects the declaration by Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh guru, who proclaimed that he was the last Sikh guru. Muslim rulers of the period had imprisoned and killed some of the pervious Sikh gurus. Partly for this reason, Gobind Singh decided that Sikhs should look upon their holy book as their "guru" after his death rather than following a human teacher as they had in the past. The Radha Soamis, however, have rejected this approach and continue to have a lineage of living gurus.

The name Eckankar is probably an anglicized version of the first three syllables of the Sikh holy book - the Adi Granth Sahib.

they sae saying today over 22000 dead and 14000 still trapped from the quake.

Conservative numbers. Not high at all considering how high they may really be
I think they are quieting down the devastation.

I girl of about 12 was filmed walking out of the rubble with rosy cheeks and combed hair and very clean pressed clothes for all of the time she spent trapped. Staged? or am I just cynical?

Nothing like the scene in SF in Oct 17, 1989.

anyway, it's a tragic loss and terrible suffering, and my heart aches for these people and their losses of loved ones and upbruptly upheaved lives.

That Christians do NOT believe in "reincarnation" is a well established fact, so I do not understand why you got all ticked off at my statement that Christians deny it.

(NOTE: I do not call it "reincarnation" I call it "incarnation.")

The quote from Feralcatlady's post had the line in it:

Jesus’ death upon the cross would be unnecessary if reincarnation were true.

That is the quote I was addressing and I said: " Therefore I understand why Christians deny it." I called it "incarnation."

In which you replied:

This is just ANOTHER EXAMPLE..of how you come on this board and TWIST words..and put words in people's mouth!!!

You accuse me of "twisting words?" and putting words in people's mouth? I was only quoting and referring to something Feralcatlady posted about a Christian's view of L Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology.

And so now you are ticked off because I asked you if you now are saying that you do believe in incarnation. (reincarnation)

I am not understanding what your problem is. I made a simple statement that I understand why Christians deny reincarnation. (which I call incarnation because reincarnation is not the correct term as it is confined to linear space-time notions)

God said we have ONLY ONE Life , then Comes the Judgement.

First of all, God did not say that, in my opinion.

Second, what would be the point of only living one single lifetime, (which is a non-existent span of time compared to infinity,) and then spending eternity in some blissful boring existence you call "heaven" or some eternal damnation you call "Hell."

Third, you can believe what ever you want.

You are misunderstanding what I am talking about because you don't understand that "incarnation" is what humans are doing.

I just don't use the incorrect term "reincarnation."

JB

To be perfectly clear: I was NOT talking about what Christians refer to Jesus's "incarnation" on earth.

Feralcatlady,

Thanks for the information about L.Ron Hubbard. He reminds me of Paul Twitchell who founded Eckankar in that they were both creative science fiction writers.

I would have preferred a more unbiased non-Christian write up though. The article was obviously written from the Christian point of view, so it has to be read with that in mind. It is not unbiased.

I can also see why Christianity denies the idea of incarnation.

JB

well sweets.....I am a Christian.....so this is how I view it....gigglesnort. As far as L.Ron Hubbards part totally unbiased as far as what they believe....well it is what it is...that is what they believe......but yea your write.....christian view point...But I did love it enough to save......just is case.....

Although both Scientology and Eckankar were spawned from science fiction and imaginative minds they did use a lot of spiritual and psychological creative techniques that served to benefit members temporarily.

But the final outcome is still an elaborate fraud that took valuable spiritual truths and mixed them with ridiculous lies and the over all agenda of these kinds of religions is to make money and wield power over others.

Once the founder makes his millions, and then dies, the corporation continues because it is now a money making business and corporation that supports a lot of people.

The devastating effects that the exposure of these kinds of frauds have on the faithful members is despicable.

How anyone could plan to start a religious fraud of this kind is beyond belief. New and modern religions are much more susceptible to being exposed than any of the older religions because there is still evidence and records that can be examined. But the older religions are just as much frauds as the newer ones.

What is amazing to me is that even in the face of proof that these are frauds, people still ignore the truth and cling to what they believe.

Because I have seen so much deception and outrageous lies I now find myself questioning everything and believing nothing that shows itself to be similar to any kind of cult or religion.

I demand proof and logic. I believe that science, particularly quantum physics, hold the clues to finding the truth of the nature of reality. I think we will find enough magic and wonder in the truth of things.

My faith is in whatever unknown intelligence is behind existence. I question all myth, legend and science fiction that cannot be supported by reason, logic and science, and at the same time I realize that the truth is probably stranger than fiction.
