I guess you are someone who believes that all religions and spiritual beliefs other than your own are "of the devil,"... your devil from your religious beliefs that is... "are cults,"... even though one of the very definitions of the word "cult" describes every religion including Christianity... and "are not the way to God"... your personal God that is.

I don't believe that Scientology is a "religion" as we would traditionally think a religion would be. However, the followers of Scientology are so dogmatic about their beliefs and practices that I guess in a sense it is indeed a religion.... it's a religion made up by a man named Ron Hubbard. You know if we actually were able to dig deep into their beliefs we might find that we actually agree with a lot of their philosophies. In my studies of many religions I've found that I agree with many different aspects of many different religions. Take what is good for you personally and leave the rest.

I didn't quote Marilyn Manson to "scare" you sweetheart! Manson doesn't scare me either. However, he does intrigue me because in spite of outward appearances he is an extremely intelligent man. I quoted Manson because I completely agree with those particular quotes. Oh by the way... you my dear have some power over life and death. You can help create a life and you can also take life away with your very hands or weapons made by your hands. So give yourself some credit, you are not all powerful like your God but you are not powerless either.

You have a choice that was given to you by God it is your choice to believe or not. I belive in God because of a decision I made many years ago and have experienced God on a personal level. I have the power over addiction and a peace that surpases all understanding.

i have a choice that was givin to me by me your god has never reveled himself to me though i have searched for him since i was a child. does that mean that he does not exist no thats not what i am saying. just as you have experienced your god i have experienced mine. there is a reason that i have my own religion. I did not wake up one day and say oh yea now i see yup there is no "god". it took me years of lonelyness,depression and emptyness to find what made me complete. i am proud to say that i am writing my own bible. oh by the way isn't it your god that said not to judge.

Good for you... seriously... overcoming addiction is a very hard thing... I know from personal experience. I too have overcome addiction... yet still struggle with other addictions. As for peace... no one ever has true peace... not even a Christian. I know what I'm talking about. I too was a Christian. Peace doesn't come util you're dead.

I remember reading Ron L. Hubbards book of Scientology, ok - a long time ago. I was quite fascinated with it. I actually thought there were some good points made. As far as a further interpretation of "Western" Karmic view" I thought it held some validity.

I also remember, many years later, reading about this wierd cult (which turned out to be non-other than) the Church of Scientology. I re-read a good deal of the book again, and I still can't figure out how the book, turned into that religion?????

However, I did see another side of the book, having more knowledge of many things, and I think there was, possibly, some good psychology in there somewhere. At least for someone who believe in karma.

Just to give you one example they think Psychologists are bad and psychiatric drugs are bad because there was a big bad guy in the sky named Xenu that killed many beings long ago by placing them around volcano's in Hawaii and blowing them up with an H-bomb. (maybe he used drugs?)

So lets say some poor kids is born with schizophrenia, and his parents become Scientologest. They will be told to take the child off of the meds because they are bad for him. We know what people do when they are true believers in the one true religion. You can be sure the kid is going to be suffering for the sins of the parents. These people are dangerous. Not just run of the mill.

I never really thought about that. I mean, I knew how Tom Cruise was adamently against Phsychiatry and Psychotropic drugs and that was due to his religious beliefs... however, I never really reseached how deep the rabbit hole goes. I would love to sit down with a Scientologist and ask them in depth about the topic of Psychiatry and Psychotropic drugs. You're right, some people with severe mental illness need drugs and therapy just to be able to function in society. If the parents of such a child were scientologist refused to get said child the medical and psychiatric help that was needed the CPS should get involved, in my opinion.
