It seemed like only yesterday I was complaining how cold it was. Now the weather is back to being normally miserably hot.
I have invested in some good hand cleanser for the van. I found out that someone broke off the bracket tensioner for the alternator. Went to the junkyard to find out that they used to have vans like mine but crushed them. Then I went to to parts store and found out that part will have to come from a dealer or another junkyard. I am getting to know the part store lady intimately. Every time I drive my car to the parts store she asks me if I have brought the van with me so she can take a look at it since her parts book numbers and computer list don't look the same. I think she just thinks I am sexy and wants to spend more time with me. It couldn't be that is the only way she can figure out what part I really need. I think old grease hands must really turn her on. I am meeting other people at the parts store who just as baffled as me with their old vehicles. It is really a friendly place.

That is so true, Jt. After two hours of fighting with the broken alternator bracket using 11,12,13,14 and 15 metric wrenches the bracket gave up and felt to the ground. It really put up a struggle but it was doomed before the fight because I was determined to get it out of there. While at the part store talking to Rosie I met Travis who works maintenance and started when I did at the nursing home. Through talking with my friend Lisa I found out that Rosie used to work at the nursing home as a CNA. Small world isn't it? No wonder she treated me with such care she used to be a care giver. Went to see Travis since at the parts store he told me he would weld the broken bracket for free if I could get out of the van. Caught him at work and he said he would weld the piece since it is steel he can use a regular rod. It sure made my day. The Engine Brite by Gunk really helped, too.

Am I totally lost? What kind of fighting? Fist or words? both luckily i haven't been in a fight since i was in school. which makes me think....if i had stayed in school and graduated,this year would have been my 10 year reunion but i dropped out 2 years before graduation year. |
