I don't know where you got your info, but you are flat wrong. You can debate spirituality and government till you are blue in the face, but Obama is NOT Muslim. He is in fact a Christian. He was one of the first to swear his appointed office on the Quran. His dad, who only had him for a short time in his life, is linked to the terrorist responsible for the attacks of 9/11 but it's your vote & your choice.

I'm not a fan of Obama - but his holding office is not half as scary as the idea that only about 50% of the population votes, or that of that 50% only about 5% of that group are educated, interested and open minded about current events and the world situation, and the sad reality that few who were born and grew up in America have absolutely no idea how this government is supposed to function, and how it does function and how to secure a participitory place as the voice OF THE PEOPLE.
If religion is held paramount above the values that maintain our Constitution, if godly belief is first on your list of requirements for the filling of office, how can it be argued that religion is anything less than a bigotry? How can the values assigned to any religion be above scrutiny when bias is their unerlying directive? |

How can this be a good thread when It was started on a known untruth. The guy who posted it did not even argue the point when it was shown to him. He is just trying to slander a good mans name. I guess that is how christians are. |

I can tell you where you got your info. From some chain email circulating on the net. Or some other Christian propaganda site. Your info is wrong. It's been in the news and was asked in the debate. He says he was raised as a Christian by a white mother from Kansas and was sworn in with a bible. It is pretty scary reading this thread how many people just took you at your word and assumed he's a muslim. I think we're doomed as a country. There is just too much easy prey out here for people. I'll pray for you Correction: The only one you hear of on the news is between Judeaism and Muslim. There are still more deaths accounted for in the crusades then this "holy war" you speak of...and the crusades was far more violent and bloody, and they were Christian. If you want generalizations, such as this rather bland one on Obama...then I can generalize that because of the crusades Christians are bloodthirsty, but I don't...because I understand I live in a very diverse country of all kinds of religions and beliefs and/or ideas, and to set them in one big can of religion is a terrible thing to do. |

I am a REDNECK and Obama has my vote...heck he had my vote back in the 2004 Dem. Convention. After listening to him speak in 2004 I told several people that he will be the next president of this country after George Porgy gets out of office. What does religion have to do with running the Country and for all of you out there the President doesnt do crap. It is the congressmen and senators that run this country. Race should not be an issue or religion what should be the issue is how WE THE PEOPLE can get this country turned around into the right direction for the generations to come. Plus Obama can't be all that bad if the famous Kennedy's are supporting him and matter of fact Edward Kennedy is good friends with the Clintons so why isn't he backing Hillary..????

Steve, forgive me for 'stepping on your toes' but I'm relating to actual facts found on wikipedia. Although it may be propaganda or yours may be propaganda, the fact remains that he took an oath of office on the Quran, when all other public officers have taken oaths on the bible. and even though his father passed on during the 89's doesn't negate him from being associated with Al quada. BUt the choice is yours & if you vote please exercise that right.

This bit about he said she said....where is the proof that he took the oath of office on the Quran....???? To me it is just one person and what they said....until you can provide a picture of his hand on the Quran then I will not believe..it a picture is worth a 1000 words.
