i have three children in their early thirties

I have two beautiful daughters & a very awesome Son

& three grandchildren...two girls & a boy


i worry about my Son when he drives his concrete mixer


and I worry about the rest of the Family

with all the traveling that they need to do


how insanely crazy it is on the roads



Since none of my children are over there

i can only imagine how you must feel,

but being a mother myself, i feel your pain


i do have several friends who are soldiers

one very good friend in particular


it tears me up thinking of them over there


and i promised him i would uphold him in prayer


and i don't wanna go back on my promise....


i want to intercede for our soldiers

& pray for them daily until the war is over

My thoughts are with you and yours also. As parents we always worry. They never get to old for that, do they? We raise them,instill values in them and then send them out into the world hoping they will contribute. That is the best reward for the sacrifices we make as parents. My best to you and my thanks for your kind thoughts.

I don't think there is any group of people I have more respect for than military. They are my heroes.

This video in their honor is wonderful. The woman who sings (Ginny Owens) is blind. I had her at one of the gigs I produce. She's amazing.

In the open of a littered Muslim street,
Mission duty, yet stay alive.
Remnants of a market stand,
Citizens secluded behind closed doors.
Soldier’s eyes cover every door,
Scanning every window, nook and alley.
Movement to the left, one door opens,
Rifle swings to that direction.
A little boy runs into the street,

A Soldier Died Today

Is the greatest contribution to the welfare of our land

Some jerk who breaks his promise and cons his fellow man?

Or the ordinary fellow who in times of war and strife

Goes off to serve his country and offers up his life?

The politicians stipend and the style in which he lives

Are sometimes disproportionate to the services he gives,

While the ordinary soldier, who offered up his all,

Is paid off with a medal, and perhaps a pension small.

It’s so easy to forget them, for it was so long ago

That our Bob’s and Jim’s and Johnny’s went to battle, but we know

It was not the politicians, with their compromise and ploys,

Who won for us the freedom that our country now enjoys.

Should you find yourself in danger with your enemies at hand,

Would you really want some cope-out with his ever waffling stand?

Or would you want a soldier who has sworn to defend

His home, his kin, and country, and would fight until the end?

He was just a common soldier and his ranks are growing thin

But his presence should remind us, we may need his kind again.

For when countries are in conflict, then we find the soldier’s part

Is to clean up all the troubles that the politicians start.

If we cannot do him honor while he’s here to hear the praise,

Then at least let’s give him homage at the ending of his days.

Perhaps just a simple headline in the paper that might say:

OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING, FOR A SOLDIER DIED TODAY
