In the time I have spent on M2 , I have come across many scammers....all kinds , types etc etc .
Clues to them being scammers ....want to move to another platform to chat....45 years old, never married but has kids and wants more ....50 years old looking for intimate encounters....typically these are some of the things I constantly see ....and I think Scammer right away!!

Please Share some other clues that make you think Scammer right away :

I will agree with the wanting to chat some where else, but the rest of it...well, a lot of people make bad choices in life...lol

If you look further than just your local area, you will see profiles with the same picture but with a different name and city.

Online searching always reminds me of a balance of a couple of old sayings..."If it is too good to be true then it probably isn't" and "You missed 100% of the shots you don't take." So if a profile looks too good, then it is probably fake...but you should take a chance just in case it is real...lol

Agreed!
You gotta try your luck at least once a day, because you could be going around lucky all day , without knowing it...Jimmy Dean

Well... Wouldn't that make you dizzy.... and then fall into a pit without knowing it...lolzzzzz

Identifying a professional scammer is almost impossible unless one uses professional tools designed for the purpose. Professional employment recruitment agencies use a comprehensive, randomised, cross referenced questionnaire compiled by forensic psychologists to eliminate undesirables entering the workplace. The same questionnaire can be used to eliminate impostors.

I recently received a few unsolicited phone calls from well spoken, grammatically correct English speakers inquiring about the online services I use. The sales pitch changed to using a "better" service. The identifying factor was the caller never addressed me by my real name or identified their employer. I use one email account using my real name for online banking, bill payments and internet services. All other emails accounts are disposable aliases. Banking, bill payments, internet services use two factor authentication. When I requested confirmation via email, the caller could not provide my real name email account and two factor authentication. I thanked the caller and hung up.

Singles dating.

I live in Australia therefore I will use a local example.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is an agency of the Australian Government that collates and analyses statistical data on economic, demographic, environmental and social issues to support policy research and development.

The cost of purchasing a home is expensive and requires couples contributing equally to save for a deposit and make regular repayments. Once divorced, assets divided, debts paid, divorcees become lifetime renters because it is impossible starting from nothing, saving a housing deposit, purchase, reach retirement age and possess the title deeds to a home. All Australian dating sites are saturated with divorcees with children, claiming they are living the dining out and travel lifestyle. When cross referenced with the ABS cost of living statistics, the claims are bogus, therefore run when you encounter divorcees espousing lifestyle.

Until someone asks for gifts or money, I do not consider them a scammer. Most anyone new that you meet, is going to misrepresent who they are in some way. That is just the way human nature works - put your best foot forward and try to skip the ugly parts. We all do it!!

Survival in the urban jungle is dependent on developing streetwise skills.

All the world's a stage, and all the men and women are merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts,... William Shakespeare.

During the early days of the internet, navigated required technical skills. Forum members used real names and built lasting friendships. As technology advanced, the undesirables gained access, then members departed.

I started using a relatively new AI assisted browser named Ace with the DuckDuckGo Search engine. I was compiling a list of streetwise skills when this forum appeared in the search result. I recommend downloading the Ace Browser and installing the RevEye Reverse Image Search browser plugin from the Chrome web store. People can right click on the photos appearing on dating sites to verify if they are genuine. It is amazing the amount of photos posted on dating sites and social media accounts that are lifted from modelling portfolios.

Many singles use the same photos, and post on multiple dating sites using different profiles. The above configuration same time by comparing profiles and determining whether the profile is a fake or genuine.
