Not relating to Hookups and just dating multiple partners. Would You as a Single never married person, Marry a Divorced person? Some Livin in consider that Marriage but is Not. You put up 2 different websites that have no correlation to each other. One offered a dogmatic view and one fluff piece that didn't offer anything that anyone didn't know already. Here's my 2 cents from a male perspective... 1) Marriage mainly benefits children - so if there's no chance of children, why would a guy bother to get married? 2) If only 20% of divorces are initiated by men, there's an 80% chance that the woman you're seeing doesn't believe in vows if she's been married before. 3) If she was never married at all, then that would tell me she was too big of a pain in the azz for another dummy to want to marry her in all those years 4) Why rock the boat... if she's already giving you the poontang, what do you need to spend all that money on a nothing party. The white dress ain't so white, her vows are probably not that solid, and she'll lose her alimony checks. Second and third marriages have a greater failure rate than first marriages 5) Why would a guy enter a contract when one party benefits by breaking it. |

You may not have a choice if your spouse wants a divorce. I think divorce does change you. I would marry again and I would marry a divorcee people make mistakes. I believe in marriage, it shows the commitment you have towards each other, but a long courtship where you both become best of friends is essential for it to be successful in the long term in my opinion.

Whether or not I will react well to the question why I divorced depends on context.
Who is asking, why and when he is asking. Generally speaking it's none of a new man's business. It's a matter of trust. And oftentimes a divorce happened yonks ago, like in my case 22 years now. It doesn't play a role in my life and sure as heck shouldn't be a reason for a man not wanting to date me. In general it's a very B & W question that I don't consider applicable at all. |

I agree to a point! Often when man and woman are friends for long time, they may not even get married to each other but choose someone else. You have just been put in a friend Zone only. ![]() Many people are successful with meeting for a short time and dating! Especially those who Value marriage as a real commitment. |

IMO
If a Man is asking a Women to marry him I think he has a right to ask personal question as to what is important to him! However, if they are just dating or making friends to me that is an entirely different situation. Online everyone is a stranger Until I meet in person. Speaking from my Experiences I have dated Several online Men in Person, and I would not marry any of them except 1 and I found out he was Lying about some things. He wanted to move forward but I did not. I dated from a Paid only site NO forums. Moderation with Rules. Most sites are Very expensive now after 2020 in USA thousands went Online! Messaging is more Personal one on one. |

Messaging is more Personal one on one. If a man asks a woman to marry him and still doesn't trust her or still doesn't really know her then he's an idiot. You don't ask someone to marry you unless you really love them, care about them, have established a solid relationship with them and know that you want to spend the rest of your life with them. I wouldn't even say 'yes' to a man if he was still basically a stranger. Nor would I marry him if he didn't trust me and felt that he suddenly had reason, or the right, to interrogate me. Aside from that, normally when you're in touch & dating for a while these kind of things come up by themselves. In a natural way, not by someone demanding answers. Maybe it's a generational difference, can also be a cultural difference. To me how you portray things and what you seem to find normal feels very rigid and very mental, totally not from the heart. I'm not into a calculated mental relationship. I want a love relationship with bonding on all levels. Some of these levels (I believe there are 4 or 5) are emotional, spiritual, mental. |

Many people do not know what real love is and that usually leads to divorces!
Better meet and date for at least 6 months. Things will come out when you spend much time together. Many people cannot be Trusted. If a person has Big money, they better get a Prenup. Some people get desperate! I am not desperate in any way, I've been asked to marry after my divorce, Men I dated in person. |
