It's a red flag!? Thoughts.

Chat a bit to find mutual cinnection. Then move to video chat.

Someone who wants to quickly go "off-site" to video chat or other forms, or asks for personal contact information after a few messages is a huge red flag.

Somebody who lists themselves as an "educator" and has a problem with written correspondence is also a red flag.

I would think it's not a red flag as red as other flags, because in a video it must be the other person, where as in a photo it could be anyone's photo lol...

Speaking for myself, I don't feel very photogenic and that would probably make me avoid video chat...

You start messaging each other and I agree at some point it's a good idea to video chat when you both feel comfortable to do so, maybe as a prelude to arranging to meet in the real world. Avoiding the need to meet if you don't click after a video call, and video calls deter scammers in my opinion.

what's the point of video chat? why are we going to sit here with our phones in our hands even longer? isn't the point of the site to find each other so we can meet? I don't get it? you live close enough to each other why would you still want to video chat wouldn't you just go get a drink or a coffee and staring each other's eyes in person?

Honestly a video chat proves nothing other than the pictures match, but you still don't know where the other person is located since most won't show a recognizable background where they are located.

Hell if they won't take selfie to prove their location why would you trust an indoor video chat?

1000% even then, sometimes theyll put a little time in 2-3 days. But usually you can see the holes before then, I let it ride to see where it goes for entertainment I guess.

Its simple, take their cell phone outside on cam and show a license plate for the state theyre in. And the rest is pretty simple.

I think it seems people have forgotten the art of communication. What about building friendship? I've met many without video. We all spent time on here setting up our accounts. Best we use them. If you want to further your connections hear, you can always set up a bind email that forwards to you private email without giving out your private information.
