Has anyone on here won an award while they were in High School? It can be any year or for anything. I did for student service for taking lunch tickets all 4 years but of course I didn’t get it until the end of my senior year.

I forgot to add that I wasn’t expecting the award either.

The High School I went to and which i played in the Football ⚽ team also, won the National Scottish Schools under 18, football Shield in 1988, at the Scottish National Football Stadium, Hampden Park. We won 5-3. Nearly every High School in Scotland, entered that competition and we won it. We also won the West of Scotland League title and the Glasgow Schools Cup, that year. I got the player of the year award that year, which really surprised me, as we had a team full of very good players that year and a couple of them even ended up playing in the English Premiership and also the Scottish National team. I spoke to my old Teacher, Mr McDonnell, who ran the football team and even he said he never had a team that came close to the one I played in. Happy days:thumbsup::100::sunglasses:

I had to leave high school in my final year, because of parents divorcing each other, and moved to another county with different exam boards, so only came out with basic English and Maths qualifications...

Our headmaster at the old school used to play football professionally for Manchester United so that was quite inspirational, although I didn't get any awards or anything...

I Mostly daily got rewards by teachers by complimentary standing outside the classroom and sometimes supervisor and principal too joined the hand and awarded me outside the office by neil down for whole day:trophy:🧎

Did you have a learning issue like a learning disability? I was diagnosed with one when I was young and thus held back a year and repeated kindergarten. I was in Special ED up until my Junior year of High School but was still being supervised. Did you have personal or mental issues?

Thanks Julie and Jaan. I was the smallest and did not fit in anywhere. People made fun of me.

I had a few mates who were small, here in Scotland, growing up, but for what they lacked in height, they made up for in personality. They were the life and soul, of anything we did, or anywhere we went. They were certainly accepted by us and if nobody made fun of them, as they and us just wouldn't accept that if anybody tried to.:100::sunglasses:

Typical, they sound like bullies picking on people who are smaller than them...

By the way, You fit in lovely here amongst the Mingle Community...

Right on bro:thumbsup: ! I try to include everyone in my circle of friends no matter what height they are . It’s your personality that counts to me. Then again I grew up in a small town where everybody knew each other by way of neighbors and families.
