ultimately the majority of relationships are based around pleasure... why do some women hide from that? Why do some women expect love and romance instantly without any effort or anything?

I've had some good relationships come from pleasure, I've never had a good relationship that had no pleasure... don't feel the need to say it as i think most people realise that's how most relationships work?

I don't expect love or relationship straight away , I was in a 25 year marriage before he passed away , I just find alot of men just want a sex relationship and nothing else, just what I have found

I also read discussions on the widowhood communities were many have given up on online dating for the same reason.

I want the same as you, but the sad reality is it probably won’t come from a dating site. In the spring I’ll start joining things that interest me and try to get out more.

I need to return to living again. To me, it feels like I’ve been dropped in another dimension, told to survive without an oxygen tank or like the children’s storybook about the baby bird that hatched well his mother was away finding food. Along the baby birds travels he asks different things if they are his mother included a rock. I need to ask everyone are you my Daddy until I find him lol

totally agree as a widow myself and only had the one partner my whole life which was my husband it's really scary to try and date , and these men/ boys put you off for life because of the way they are, they talk to you nice for a bit then it all comes out and it's so tiresome and draining, it makes you think why bother would rather be single than put up with men like that .
