China uses the Yuan; not the dollar. And the BRICS countries haven't decided on a particular currency, and probably never will. India and China don't even like each other.

That said, Trump's new tariffs will probably drive a lot of business, outside the US, right to China.

I don't believe BRICS intention is to replace the US dollar as the international reserve currency but to have alternatives so as not to be beholden to the US at the expense of their own economy. That's why they are trading on each other' currency.

As for the tariffs, that's is a double edged sword, with the thought that US businesses would decline importing goods instead of importing and passing on the increase costs to consumers.

I'm watching the Forex market today, and see the US Dollar exploding in price. While it may sound nice to Americans to have a "strong dollar," it only means that the dollar is more expensive than it used to be, so the US will be a worse place to do business. People will lose jobs over this mess. Not to mention how much these tariffs make our economic partner nations angry. Maybe Tim, or someone else in Canada can confirm what Canadians think about buying US products, but I'm hearing on news reports that some Canadians are confronting shoppers they see buying them.

Lastly, I'd like to know what you're basing your assertion that the US was a laughing stock under Biden. The money that Iran got was Iranian-owned bank accounts that were unfrozen. If Iran is funding terrorism, it's more likely that they're using the money they get from Russia, selling weapons for use against Ukraine.
