Looking for my glasses... Grrrrr.

Usually on top of your head tongue2

OT -- Going to garden centre to get potting soil and plants. Now busy putting the plants in the pots, having a coffee & cig break.

My head was the first place I checked. laugh

Would you believe they fell into a small trash can? I had shredded papers. Never would have found them.

OT: Jumping head first into the fire.

Signing up for a Silent Dinner. Literally no talking. The dinner is with others from the deaf and hard of hearing community.

Anyone is invited.

Stoked to meet new people. Begin learning more of Deaf/HH culture and apply what I know/have learned into real life applications.

Coffee and chocolate chip cookies. One of my students brought cookies for the class, but five of my 14 kids were missing today. So guess who took extras home? That's right--ME. bigsmile

I sometimes lose track of where things are as well. Also reading glasses btw, but the other day I couldn't for the love of the Goddess find my gate key. I have a spare, but I wanted it back.
Days later I found it in the car of all places laugh

I usually tend to find everything -eventually- so I just trust in that. I lost a Clicks rose bead from my bracelet, a few weeks later I found it in the built-in car door storage.
The other day I lost the pink rose Clicks bead, not found that one yet ohwell
It probably is in the car as well laugh Stupid thing is, I felt it getting caught as I wanted to take off my sweatvest...

The deaf and HH... that's interesting! I always found it a bit difficult to communicate with them. Not that I have met many, but still. I found it difficult to read their facial expressions. They tend to be rather placid.
One deaf person I met years ago was a regular customer in our art shop. At first I didn't know he was deaf and he spoke really loud, deafening, hihi. I was talking to him, no reaction, so I felt very awkward, alone in the shop with such a rude man. Then I found out he was deaf, hihi.
Another was a student when I was a teacher. Nice girl, but again, difficult to read.
Made me realise how much we (I?) rely on facial expression.

Right now I'm streaming Rogue One.
Taking a movie break after working on the community all day.
I created some PSAs, Tutorials and established plans for staff that will be needed once the membership base increases.
I've still got a lot to do and some more tweaking and finishing touches on a few threads.

Trying to wake up after I had to quickly get out of bed because the doorbell rang. Deliverer of my rug, a very unpleasant rude deliverer. He just pushed it into my direction and off he was. I mailed a complaint to the company.
I didn't even get mail with delivery times. Not impressed.
Now drinking coffee to wake my sleepy head.

Giving my back a rest after putting the new rug in place for which I had to lift the heavy table a number of times.
But it's looking damned good!! Very happy with the result

Thank you, DM! I'm very happy with it myself!
As for my back it's not doing any other heavy stuff today. It's also being careful with my neck as lifting a heavy table some 8 times also affects shoulders & neck.
But simply looking at the result helps haha.

Complimenting Crystal on her choice of rug. It suits the room perfectly.

Nice rug! Crystal, do the kitties scratch much on that scratch pole thing? My step mother has something like that but her kitties ignore it and scratch on the rug, the sofa or my sneakers (while my feet are still in them).

OT: Making a list and checking it twice!

Thank you, Poetry!
The scratchy bits on that climbing tree are occasionally used by Nila.
Bailey rarely uses a scratching pole, I think because he goes outdoors and mostly does his scratching somewhere there.
When Nila came to live with me last year I did buy a taller scratching pole as she was a kitten, playful, and not going outdoors yet. It's the one from the photo below. It's 86cm tall.
I've never regretted buying it, it is still standing up, in the middle of my living room even for easy access.

Nila uses it a lot, occasionally Bailey does too, mostly to mark the territory and to let Nila know he's 'the man', hahaha. Just to make sure she doesn't forget he has a say in things too.
I will leave it out as -even though Nila is outdoors a lot now- she still likes to have a good scratch.
In general cats prefer a vertical scratch, but there are exceptions to every rule.

But sometimes Nila does use the scratching parts on that larger climbing tree but because these are lower down and she's quit tall when standing up she can then not have a proper stretch. For a proper stretch you would need a taller pole. What I notice is that the taller one is more inviting and intriguing for them than these lower ones at the bottom of a climbing tree.

What I've always done with my cats is gently put them against the pole and gently move their front paws over it, down and back up, down and back up. That way they know it's okay and somehow it has always worked for me with all my cats. I do that too when they're naughty and scratch furniture. That always worked too. Not giving them a b#ll#cking for scratching the wrong thing, but showing them what is okay and what not.

I did buy a waterpistol btw in case she decides the rug is a great thing to use instead of the pole, haha.
