So if women like me cause I open doors for them , lend them my umbrella if its raining, go shopping with and for them , take them out to nice breakfasts , lunches and dinner , with the occasional theatrical performances thrown in .... I must be partly old school ... then I realize my age .... dang ! I am old school!!!

You need to have common interests.

"Old School" can refer to many other things too, for example riding Panheads and Shovelheads they built themselves. Or playing a Strat or Les Paul without using effects pedals. Or putting lists on paper instead of on a computer. There are more, but these are just some examples.

I like so much when a man is a gentleman.. when he is feeling that this kind of behaviors makes him pleasure.. too..
These gestures makes that my heart is melted, but what's for me so beautiful and magnificentI feel stronger as a woman...

I read that in Europe, is a country in which the women have the same rights as a men, and it means that men aren't a gentleman's towards women's.. unfortunately..

"Old School Guys" Maybe they do when it comes to the way a guy acts towards them, that is being chivalrous, but do they want to be the "Old School" stay- at-home wife, maybe not so much these days, times change.

I like men that are quite empowered, and as such have worked on personal growth and development.
I don't think "old school" means any of that.
To me that feels like being outwardly chivalrous but expecting/thinking/demanding to wear the pants and be the boss at home and in the relationship.

That to me is not empowered and not what I want. A man can hold open a millions doors and offer me an umbrella a gazillion times, but if he doesn't see me as an equal and treat me as such I'm not interested.
And for clarity reasons: the equal I mean is not the same as unisex.
I mean being complements, a team. One masculine energy, the other feminine, totally equal and respecting of the other.

How old school are we talking?

I like a man being a gentleman, and in many ways I enjoy traditional gender roles. But I would not be comfortable relying on a man to support me while I stay home cooking and cleaning all day.

Bonnie, you're right. For many women who had that lifestyle before the womens' movement it came crashing down in a divorce or death. Without a degree or other career skills, it may have been a bleak future. But many moved on to success.
