I wonder where ya'll got the idea that I think people who like to be alone are nothing?

This is the number one reason why I love forums... people are so easily offended and they always twist your words for a fight.

I meant that love is worth more than money. I stand by it.
I wouldn't trade my kids or my best friends for all the money or things in the world.
Sorry but I just can't see how money makes people THAT happy and fulfilled.

I dont think that these people "like" to be alone but are and have come to terms with it and if someone amazing came along then they would jump at the chance. But to say that life is not worth living unless you have another (spouse,bf/gf) sounds ludicrous to me......ridiculous actually!!!laugh laugh Soooooooooo ya I can go to the grocery store and mall and even to the gas station alone and Im ok with that!!!laugh I can even go into a restaurant and eat by myself if I so choose and I think nothing....ppl have to eat.....so unless you have absolutely no self esteem or self worth then I guess you will "need" to have someone walk you to the bathroom and help you with that toilet paper!!noway laugh noway

So True..I'm the same way..sometimes I prefer to do things alone..drinker

Omgosh! I just found out the sad so sad truth about this! He just wants to do- what he wants to do- when he wants to do it! Don't take it personal becuase you will be walking around with a wounded heart! He doesn't deserve you!

I keep finding men who do NOT share that philosophy.
It frustrates the hell out of me.

Why date anyone if all you want to remain a bachelor for life?
Is money that great if you aren't sharing it with other people?
Is anything all that fun if you are alone?

I recently did the Anthony Robbins "get the edge 2" thing, and in the relationships section he said
"relationships are for enhancing the human experiance."
or in other words: getting a relationship is to find someone whom compliments your life you you theirs.

BUT
you shouldnt have the mindset that you NEEEED a person to 'complete' you, as if there is this VOID in your life that only a relationship can fill.
Its BULL****.

Ask yourself this:
WHY do I want a relationship?
what is it about the relationship that I want?
is it the closeness? the intimacy of it?
or do you just want to happy?
Is it TRUE that a relationship will bring you the happiness you strive for?
Can you get this happiness from another source?

Fact is you should never be in a place where you believe that you're happiness is dependant on the presence of someonELSE.

I Couldn't personally agree more. Sure being on your own and by yourself has it's advantages; but in the long run...it's much better to share LIFE and LOVE with SOMEONE ELSE!

to say life means nothing with out somebody else is the most idiotic thing i've heard in a long time. i have nobody, i haven't had anybody in a few years and if you consider me nothing becuase of it well then i've got a few choice words for you. my life is just as good with or without somebody in it.

if you believe in the title of this then you need to look up the definition of co-dependent, seriously. if all you people believe that having somebody in your life is the only thing that means anything in your life....... go see a shrink.

thank you, I was thinking the exact same thing. Would I love someone to share my life and love with, sure. Is it necessary, nope. My life is full of meaning, hope, wonder and happiness. I support myself and my son, I have wonderful friends and I live life on my own terms. What's not to love about that?

To enjoy life it isn't required that you have someone. I am content being single. I have such a unique personality, I would rather be single than to settle for someone who would not be a good fit.

I can enjoy life without someone. For me, it's the positive differences I can make in other's lives.

gotta agree with ya Zipper. ...I don't need someone around me 24/7....I like being single...and just because you are alone doesn't mean you are lonely. And yes there are some good guys left...just like there are some good girls...guys get screwed over just as much as girls do...No one said life had to be fair.
