Topic: Difference between sexy and beautiful | |

Still can't tell the difference between the two .... must be an age thingy or vision is on the decline.... dang !!! Oh to be young again !!!! Hey ho, what do you mean? I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder and sexy too. What one desires and admires is an individual thing. |

Still can't tell the difference between the two .... must be an age thingy or vision is on the decline.... dang !!! Oh to be young again !!!! I doubt it is related to age. It's more that the statement is odd. If a woman deliberately goes for looking sexy she'll easily get a lot of attention, but generally speaking this is short-term. Beautiful can attract much attention just the same, although then maybe from different type of men or slightly different attention. More towards admiration. But like you say these two are very close together, you can't really separate them, and like Ladywind says: both are in the eye of the beholder. The OP is also omitting the largest group of women: the ones that are more -let's say- normal. But these can still be found highly attractive, beautiful, and sexy. And when you find someone beautiful, you usually also find them sexy. Which leads back to the statement being just weird and doesn't make a lot of sense. But maybe this is how it works for the ones that are more shallow and not looking for love and commitment? |

Sexy cannot be considered as Beautiful. Some are just sexy because they are wearing something revealing or because of their body shape. While being Beautiful can be seen only with the face. Most important thing is that being sexy and beautiful will always be the same with the girl who knows how to define herself.

What about "frumpy", "perky", "quirky", 'charming"? Sexy and beautiful is defined as the 'air' about someone. Neither are solely based on appearance but appearance does have a part. It has more to do with how someone carries themselves than their physical display. Sexy/beautiful has been defined by television and other media, including advertisements. The modern world is over-exposed to media influence. Some of us have the ability to look past the Pavlovian response. |

I still say Sharon Stone ( Basic Instincts ) is very sexy and Julia Roberts (Pretty Woman) is very beautiful ....and beauty is in the eye of the beholder ... guess what ... I still have two eyes.... if I ever bump into these two ladies I would be crossed eyed... just sayin....

IMO a woman can be beautiful and not sexy and a sexy woman need not be beautiful.

Difference between sexy and beautiful In my opinion, there is a difference. Beauty is defined to some extent, there are or used to be beauty competitions, so you could say beauty is objective because to become a beauty queen a woman needs to meet a certain set of requirements, not every woman could enter a beauty competition, for example because of their age. Sexy is undefined it is more subjective, for example, a big woman can be considered very sexy by those guys who find big women attractive. |
