A physical reminder of a promise you gave with your heart.
Some people need it, I didn't.
What does it say if you need a ring or anything physical as a reminder?

As a mechanic I didn't wear my ring at work.
I only wore it when the X asked me to.
I've been hit on, flirted with by women.
Thing is, it was always my deciusion to take them up on their offers, yet I didn't.
I honored the promise I made. I needed no ring or marriage paper to make me.
But, I'm wierd.

This Small round shaped Ring has a Big Meaning . Ever wonder why the [W R] is round . It generally represents that this has to do with the never ending Circle of Life . A Token of Love , Commitment and Full of Promises !

My ex hubby was an engineer. He took it off upon arriving at work (different place every day) and put it on a silver necklace.
He put it back on when finished with work.
I don't think in the 11 yrs of marriage he ever came home without it on his finger.

I love your posts, but I tend to think that the wedding ring is round basically because fingers have a round section. Maybe I'm simplyfing a bit?

P.S. as you greeted me with Bonjour, are you aware that in French there is the word "blessรฉ" that despite the similarity has a different meaning from "blessed"? It means hurt. So it sounds like a sign of the pain one caused to his/her spouse. In some cases it's true. Probably nobody cares, I just find it funny, but that's because I'm a languages nerd.

Dunno how you got there, hihi, but it is a word in Dutch too, blesseer - hurt/wounded.

Donโ€™t just run out to the diamond store and buy me one. That doesnโ€™t carry
much thought to me. Someone that truly knows me would have one carved
from a tree we like to sit under, or made from an heirloom of my motherโ€™s,
something that letโ€™s me know you not only love me, but you know me well.

Isn't it good how we are all different?!
I would want a new ring. Not one that was already mine or his (heirloom). I'd want it to be something he and I choose.
My dad married his second wife with the same ring he'd married my mom, and I guess she used her first ring as well. I'd never do that either.
No old lingering energies, nor what someone else chose in the past.

Not sure if I'd want a diamond. I never cared for diamonds.
I have had a gorgeous golden engagement ring in the past with a delicate design all the way round in the gold. It actually looked like it had tiny diamonds all around it.
When I sold all the golden wedding / engagement rings even the gold buyer had to look twice as he thought there were diamonds in it, hihi.
That ring was quite expensive too. Not like a diamond ring of course, but still. The price was in that design. It didn't reflect in what I got when I sold it. Just the gold price. Very disappointing how little you get for that.

When I married I chose a simple smooth golden band.

What do Wedding Ring means to You

Depends on how I got it.

I mean they mean something far different when I get them from digging up strangers in the graveyard before hitting the pawn shop vs. someone giving it to me because they love me.

Itโ€™s fascinating, the things that make us all so unique. The idea of a man remarrying and using the same ring is appalling!!! No, no, never! As far as myself using an heirloom, I meant, perhaps a jewel out of it as part of another ring or something, Never the entire ring itself. Iโ€™d love to have that connection with my mother.

I hope you didn't take what I wrote as judgement, wasn't meant that way!
It just made me think how I'd feel about that.
