If you were told you had about five years to live, would you continue working?
What would be on your bucket list, also take into consideration the border closures?

I remember when the doctor told me,
that I had three months, or less, to live.
(Not joking.)

I am retired, so I would book even more holidays, lots of places yet to see.

I don't think 5 years would qualify, but for those that are terminally ill, all travel within the UK is permitted as is travel to other countries if you have family there. The UK and Australia permits entry on compassionate grounds, and many other countries probably do as well.

Do you have to isolate for two weeks if you went to the UK?

If you referring to entry in to the UK on compassionate grounds, I guess it would be judged on a case by case basis.

I remember hearing of a case in New Zealand of entry on compassionate grounds in 2020, two family members from the UK were allowed in to the country to visit their dangerously ill mother, isolation was shortened or waived, but later it was discovered one of them had the Coronavirus, very difficult decisions.

I doubt it's possible for the general populace to stop working for such a long time. you still got bills to pay and you still have to eat.

Personally I don't know what I'd do or change. I'd want to spend more time with my kids, and I'd want to do a few workshops before I go! I'd likely have to sell stuff in order to be able to pay them.

And I'd ask my kids if they would want my crystals and oracle decks. Otherwise I'd find new guardians for them, although not right away. I can't live without them myself, hihi. And it would break my heart to not have my crystals around me anymore, but it would also break my heart if they'd end up in a box somewhere. They deserve a good guardian! All 300+ of 'em.

I would give my two week notice and start doing seasonal work and travel again. Most assignments are between 4 and 6 months. I'd take two to four weeks off in between jobs and visit friends I'd like to meet, along with friends I already know. The job site will have employee room and board, so I won't need to worry about paying rent or housing costs. If travel restrictions ever lift in the UK, I'll definitely be visiting there.

I don't actually do anger... Ever.
I was disgusted, that the doctor was wrong.

I would sell my home, buy a motor home and I would go on a 5 year road trip. Whatever I wanted to do when I get up in the morning I would do.

Five years, can seem an eternity.
Most things that were on my bucket list,
have already been accomplished.
If, I knew for fact, I was down to less
to less than a year, border closures would
mean nothing.

F the rulez! bigsmile

Now that is brilliant! If I owned a house I'd do the same :)

So many things I'd want to see, but it takes money. I would really want to go back to Uluru one more time, which I promised myself when I had to get on the coach to leave.
If it's meant to be...
