Topic: Is it wrong to want to hookup? | |
---|---|
I never could date just to date when I was younger, but now that I'm getting older I tend to vere off, and have the "Life is short" mentality. I have a high want for intimacy/sexual pleasure, but I also don't want to make the other person feel like I'm not a loyal person. If I was to hookup with someone and end up liking them, that is a possibility; and I could definitely be a loyal partner. Until I find that though, is it a bad philosophy?

Is it wrong to want to hookup?
Not in and of itself. It's like asking "is it wrong to want to constantly eat pizza?" Nothing wrong with wanting to. But there are going to be long term consequences for doing so. Just because you rationalize or decide that something isn't "wrong," it doesn't mean there are no longer consequences to your choices. is it a bad philosophy?
In general, yes, "hedonism now and maybe I'll stumble into meaning" is a bad philosophy. If you aren't capable of anything more than that, then no, it's not a bad philosophy. |

Until I find that though, is it a bad philosophy? as for your philosophy it sounds a little incongruent ....like you are trying to have the best of both worlds . The danger in sitting on the fence is that you risk sending mixed messages .. By giving her a small window of hope “if you like her “. You would consider being loyal to her . Does that mean .. you will hookup up with someone you don’t like ???? What does being loyal mean to you and how does that change your casual hookup ??? Poorly defined boundaries with casual intimacy generally have a higher risk of failure |
