And Lots wife became a pillar of salt. And the 'devil' has horns and a tail, and dwells in a place of suphur and fire. And a burning bush spoke to a man on a mountain top. A woman was made from the rib of a man, and a man was crucified (dead and buried) but was seen to rise again and speak.

But I'm not laughing, because if you find comfort in these things than have at it. But remember, what you believe, as this vidio showed, is often the same thing that others believe of a 'Different' god, yet laugh and call them stupid.

Someone needs to repent their sin of judgement. But don't worry, I'm sure you will be forgiven - so go and sin, no more.

peace laughing lady

Again i believe science has been wrong on numerous occassions but again you put your faith in man, whos really the nut case =). Not calling anyone names here but, for someone to believe in somthing they cannot see, doesnt that just mean we have a little more faith than the other person? People nowadays get made fun of in school for being to smart "Nerds"? We have a Verbally abusing name for people you like to learn? So whats the difference for people who believe in stuff beyond thier senses?

To me, "the jocks" are the people bashing God and making fun of such a religion. And the "Christians" are the nerds, looking at the jocks and saying someday you will see, and it wont be funny any longer.

The purpose of science is to prove itself wrong. With each passing theory and test it gets closer to the truth. Science knows that the only way to find real truth is to admit when your wrong. Then move on with the new information. You see this as a weakness of science. It is it's greatest strength.

The video is typical atheist propaganda. I don't think that ALL those things about Horus are actually true. I would like to see the truth about that--I mean the entire list. Perhaps someone can document it.

That aside, there is no question that there have been many false messiahs and that they taken the form of Christ's life and death. But, the atheist does not believe in God and thus does not believe in the devil.

The Scriptures show that there is a devil, and he has deceived the entire world. If there is such a devil and he has deceived mankind, don't you think he would plant some fakes before the real one occurred?

Look at what he clearly has done. This is proof that there is a devil. He has people professing Christ and worshiping Santa Klaus--the god Saturn. He has them bowing down before images which we are commanded not to do. He has professing Christians rolling eggs with their nose for Jesus. And all the while it is actually the the fertility goddess Ishtar--easter.

He has them worshiping the sun on easter Sunday, and worship on the day of the sun, the first day of the week (check your calendar). He has them bowing before crosses which were the instrument of Christ's death. It is like us bowing before a gun today.

Do you not think the devil, who is smart enough to get people to do this kind of nonsense and think that they are doing it for Jesus. Do you really think he is not smart enough to cloud the issue with false messianic gods before Christ came. Of course. The video proves nothing except how gullible we are.

It is true that people today are worship Horus or his counter parts with other names. It is true that we worship the sun god thinking it is Jesus, but none of that discredits the fact of Christ's reality, and the truth He taught, and the hope of a resurrection through Him.

All the false stuff is false. I wish with all my being that those who profess Christianity would jettison all that false stuff instead of justifying it and continuing false worship in the name of Jesus.

If we dumped all that trash that is false, we could know the truth, and these atheists could not bring such accusations against us.

Keep yourself from that which is false. And, God gives a way to to do that:

Deu 13:1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, Deu 13:2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Deu 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Deu 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

I know people don't like to hear it, but if you want to not be associated with these false messiahs, then keep God's commandments, and you will not be misled.

Hi Kal, I hope you and everyone at JSH is enjoying a peacefilled reconcilleation with loved ones.

You have stated:
but, for someone to believe in somthing they cannot see, doesnt that just mean we have a little more faith than the other person?

If faith is at the top of your list of values, then obviously, having the most faith of all, would be what is desired. I must wonder, however, how true such a statement actually is as it's current 'reflection' is not one of a world full of 'Mother Teresa' types.

People nowadays get made fun of in school for being to smart "Nerds"? We have a Verbally abusing name for people you like to learn?

This is not a 'now-a-days' scenario, this has always been so. The verbiage may be different, but the recognition is the same.

So whats the difference for people who believe in stuff beyond thier senses?

This has always been a curiosity for me, which is why I have attempted to understand many various belief systems, including ideas of the paranormal. The one danger, I personally, see in any faith are the limitations than might be imposed on the mind, through such beliefs. If beliefs, as you say, in that with lays in the realm outside our senses, our perceptions, is too restrictive, than it could limit the ability of humanity to advance as a civilization.

In such cases those 'faithful' begin to think thiers is the one and only possible truth, instead of realizing that the truth is only within themselves and does not need to exist ourside that realm to make it 'their truth'.

The point is that science provides a framework in which to make TESTABLE hypotheses and FALSIFIABLE predictions based on empirical evidence. Science isn't based on edicts, decrees, appeals to authority or appeals to popularity. Its methodology doesn't rely on absolutes, i.e. religious dogma, but on TENTATIVE conclusions concerning how the natural world operates.

Thousands of years before the old testment there was the Egyptian god Horus.

He was born Dec 25
Born of a virgin
star in the east
adorned by 3 kings
teacher at 12
baptized at 30
had 12 followers
He performed miracle's like healing sick and walking on water
he was called the lamb of god
he was betrayed
crucified died
buried for 3 days
then resurrected

And you know this - how? When was this documented - and please don't tell me you guarentee the reliability of the authors and then call the authors of the bible - delusional.

Eljay,

3 Wisemen/aka Kings remains are in a Gold "Box" in Cologne (Koln) Cathedral in Germany. I have seen the box. It says "Caspar, Melchior and Baathasar are buried here." I was only taught that these were the 3 Kings who traveled afar to bring Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh to the Lord Jesus in Bethelem, guided by a star.
I have also been in the presence of The remains of St. Peter in the Crypt below the Vatican, in Rome.
The feeling is beyond description!
It is the closest I will ever get to Bethlehem or the Holy Land.

Donner;

The bible says wise men came bearing 3 gifts. There could have been a thousand wise men.

This is all to common. As an atheist, I used to challenge myself by arguing a theistic position (sometimes Christian) against other atheists, and was very disappointed to learn that there were so many atheists out there whose position derived from hostility towards other beliefs, other people, or past experiences.
